    Never ever see you again!!!

    rating24 Jul 2015

I am seriously complaining about Akköy Evleri in Cappadocia, Turkeybooking.com Order #: 193823552Staying Time: July 7th to July 9th 2015Hotel Add: Akköy Köyü Nevşehir, 50400 Ürgüp, 50400 Akköy,pastedGraphic.pngThis hotel just by its far away distance from the city, so that it extorted customers. Tour Service: high price but low quality. Non guide or explanation for us. The only thing that the “tour guide” did, was driving us to differentPlaces, and let us found out by our self. So for a lot of times, we even didn’t know where we were and what we were going to see next. (2)Not enough numbers of places where we should visit, but asked for really high price: The tour guide took us to the “Blue” and “Red” Line tours in two days. But actually, for “Blue” Line, we only went to one underground city and two other little places near the rode where we could take some pictures. However, they asked us for 100 Euro for that 2 hours tour. (3) No sense of time: We agar that we could start our tour at 9am the next day, but the drive came to us at 10:30am. At lunch, we invited him to eat with us, but he even asked us to pay for his bill, and he ordered the most expensive food. We didn’t eat dinner with him. We arrived at the town center at 16:30, and agreed with him that he’s going to pick us up after two hours. But at 19:30, we still could not find him. We finally called the hotel, and the boss of the hotel (his dad) drove there and picked us up.2. Bad living environment in the hotel: The hotel offered us a bed which had scorpions on and under it. However, the explanation from the hotel was we shouldn’t open the window and door in our room. There is no sign in the hotel or on the internet which said customers in this hotel cannot open the windows and doors in the rooms. After all, I only opened the window about 10 min after I came back from dinner. And imaging, how bad the air would be in my room if I didn’t open my window. 3. We traveled as a family (4 people), and we could not find a family room (which can fit 4 people) via booking.com. However, after we arrived at the hotel, we found that one room can fit 4 people. So we asked the hotel if we could all stay together in one room. But the boss kept saying “no”. Finally we stayed in two rooms, though we paid double price.4. No credit card support: we tried four different cards (belongs to two people, and both Visa and Master), but none of them worked. But all these four cards could work just fine in other places where we went in Turkey. Here is our bill.3 days of residence: 140 Euro2 days of tour + cars: 200 EuroFire balloon: 520 Euro for 4 people (means 130 for each). We gave this money to the balloon company, but we the hotel told us the price, and told us we had to pay cash only. However, the normal price should be 110 Euro/person, which mean 440 for all of us. So it means we paid extra 80 Euro, and everybody should know where that extra money went.5. Lied to us: Hotel tried to hide, even mislead us about the reality of airport transfer service. This made us almost didn’t catch our flight. The hotel offered free translation from the airport to the hotel, but not from the way back. The owner of the hotel are a father and a son. The son agreed with us on giving us the free transportation back to the airport if we paid all the service at the hotel. However, the next day, since he was not there, instead, his father asked us to pay the money. But he said we had to pay 70 Euro for the service. We asked the possibly of taking shuttle/bus. He however, started misleading us by telling us the wrong information. The airport shuttle there has to pre-book, but he didn’t tell us about that. During the whole time of talking, we found that both of their English are very hard to understand, and it was really hard to talk with them. He told the balloon company to drop us at the bus stop after the balloon service. It was around 7am where we got there. We waited until 8am but could not find any buses coming. To catch the flight at 9am, we had to pay a private car to go to the airport. The normal price for the shuttle is 25 Lira/person, but we paid 20 Euro/person, which means we paid the normal price * 2.5.Our Appeal:Help us consulting with the hotel, and let the hotel gave the 140 Euro (room fee) back to us. In addition to that, since we got scared and hurt while we stayed there, the hotel need to give us 140 Euro more. Please double check and see if all the things we’ve posted are real. If yes, please blocked this hotel from booking.com.

Lovely place to experience life in ancient Turkey!

    rating28 Oct 2014

Akköy Evleri is a great hotel in a cute little village in the mountains. I guess the village doesn't have more than 100 inhabitants so it's super calm and nice to walk around there - so genuine and far away from all the tourists! The surrounding nature is very beautıful and the view from the hotel is great! The owner also has an organic garden so the ingredients of the food served in the hotel normally come from there, and he even showed us everything in the garden and let us walk around and pick everythıng we wanted - so nice! The rooms are all hand carved and they really give you a feeling of how life was in ancient Turkey, but at the same time they have a touch of luxury. So - what can I say? An amazing experience, would definetly come back! Oh and I almost forgot - the breakfast is the best I've ever had in Turkey!

    Great place

Very unusual and unique place to stay. Great service and location. Be prepared to hike a little to get to your room in the caves and if you go downtown to eat. Average breakfast selections. Sometimes English speaking staff not avaialble.

Excellent boutique hotel in beautiful location

    rating10 Jul 2013

I visited Cappadocia staying in the little village of Akkoy (11 km from Urgup) with another three members of my family. Following the Trip Advisor forum reports, we choose this little family owned and managed Boutique Hotel in a beautiful valley. Really a gem, great location and view, away but not far from the touristic packed Urgup and Goreme, excellent breakfast and home cuisine. Very original cave rooms and bathrooms, comfortable, very nicely furnished and decorated, with the personal attention of Mehmet and Fatima. We highly recommend it, great value for money, for sure we will repeat the experience.
