    Generally good stay near Cappadocia

    Stayed at the Ciner Hotel in Goreme with a tour group as we visited Cappadocia. It location in Goreme is away from the main area that has all the restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops; but still within easy walking distance. It was not very busy in the hotel since it was still early in their season. The comfortable room was fairly good size compared to other similar hotels we stayed in while touring Turkey. Amenities were basic but in good working condition. There's no restaurant but they provide breakfast was a standard buffet with some hot dishes and a reasonable assortment of items. Service was spotty but good with the baggage help on arrival and in the breakfast room. Generally good stay for the limited time in the Cappadocia region.

    There is nothing lovely about this hotel.The rooms are very shabby and basic and my bedding had a faint whiff of diesel. The bathroom was just tiny, definitely only one person fit at a time. Was there a view?..the window was small and had a heavy curtain so I don't know.I don't remember any interaction with staff other than the guy who handed out the hot food at breakfast.Breakfast was fair but inconsistent, no fruit the first day but oranges appeared second day...after fruit was requested. A pretty basic selection.The pool looked great online but was closed, and looked like it had been closed for a long time.Hard to tell if it's a new hotel badly finished, or very old and unloved. Overall a bit of a grim place

    2 is a bit harsh for this hotel. 2.5 is probably more accurate. Best thing is pool and location, which is easy walking to town. The main negative is that there is no free water. I think thats a minimum for a 3 star. Breakfast was decent (free water there so stock up!) and rooms ok.

    We really enjoyed our stay at the Ciner Hotel. It has a beautiful pool and breakfast was delicious. The beds were very comfortable with lavish showers and excellent aircon. Staff have been very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Emrullah in particular deserves a shout out. Great access too all attractions via tours etc

    Overall, it was a great experience, including the food and the room. We only stayed for four days, but everything met our expectations. The staff was very polite and friendly. The hotel was quiet, so I recommend it for people who want a calm place to stay.
