Not bad for the location and the price - it met our needs for our one-night stay!

    rating09 Nov 2025

For the location (5 miles from downtown Muskegon) and the price, it was a decent stay. The front lobby is dated and needs to be brighter. The front desk person had a long going on, so we had to wait a few minutes to check in. Our room with a king bed was spacious and clean and comfortable. There is a complimentary breakfast but we didn't partake as we had breakfast plans with friends. The site has plenty of parking and it lit well at night. It met our needs for our one-night stay. Sunil Patel, Owner at Travelodge by Wyndham Muskegon, responded to this review Dear MidwestKathM,Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you have rated our hospitality and accommodations so highly! We're pleased to hear that you found the room to be spacious and comfortable, and that the location suited your needs. We hope to welcome you back on future visits to the area!Warm regards,Guest Relations Specialist

It’s only a little more expensive then camping costs and that says A LOT

    rating01 Sept 2025

We went up to Muskegon for a trip and I got a discount through work which made our hotel only a little bit more money then camping outside in the area. This became our mantra for our stay because WOW was it rough. We discovered over 10 different hand prints on our headboard. The only water you get is from the tap—so bring your own drinking water. Tv had lines through it. Alarm was broken and unreadable. AC was full of dust and our allergies were awful. So of the outlets didn’t work. Breakfast is literally waffles, white bread, stale muffins, bananas, Raisin Bran/Frosted flakes, apple juice/orange juice/coffee/tea. And bagels (bagels became our saving grace). If you bring peanut butter it goes a long way!! It’s outside of town but not far, near some movie theatres which is cool, and a liquor store that seems to be open 24/7. If you want to stay someplace that’s only 10-30$ more a night then camping and having a hot shower as well as a working toilet instead of an an outhouse then this is the place for you in Muskegon! But don’t expect much more then you would at a campsite. Sunil Patel, Owner at Travelodge by Wyndham Muskegon, responded to this review Dear Allyson B, Thank you for sharing your recent stay experience in Muskegon. Smells like weed

    rating01 Sept 2025

This place reeked like weed so bad. We walked on bottom floor clearly someone was smoking it that is all you could smell. It should be written that somewhere this place allows this. Having allergies it set them off right away. I would of stayed far away from here knowing this was allowed. Also in a bad area. A bunch of homeless people hanging at the store in front of hotel. Did not feel safe here. Sunil Patel, Owner at Travelodge by Wyndham Muskegon, responded to this review Dear heatherwD5466WD,Thank you for taking the time to rate our hotel and share your experience. Find somewhere else to stay!

    rating03 Aug 2025

Sketchy area- avoid this place. I went with a friend and our kids. The place smelled like weed. The lights in the hall were dim and the place as a whole was dingy. Our rooms were on the first floor and the window had no lock! I asked the lady at the front desk (who was very nice) and she took the plastic handle off a broom to shove it in the windowsill. 🤦‍♀️ The towels pretty much repelled water instead of absorbing it. At night, we had to run to the car quickly to grab something we forgot and I was really nervous. My friend saw a woman doing a line of coke in her car. We couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $100 to stay somewhere else. Friendly staff, good overall value

    rating12 May 2025

Property was well-kept, and staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed the daily breakfasts ... cereal, muffins, oatmeal, waffles, (real) orange juice, etc. Was well-stocked. Rooms, bath and bedding were clean and well-tended. WiFi worked well. The neighborhood itself can best be described as sketchy, but that's hardly the hotel's fault. Street leading to the property was riddled with potholes, so be sure to dodge those. (And maybe call the city to complain.) A large fence separates maybe 85 percent of the hotel from the surrounding area, and you'll find a pleasant stream running along the eastern edge of the property. The hotel might ask smokers to stand away from the entry doors as their presence detracts from the overall ambience. We had a noisy upstairs neighbor the first night; no problems the second.Overall, a good experience and good value, largely because of the efforts of the family that owns/manages the property. Would recommend it. Guest Relations Manager, Owner at Travelodge by Wyndham Muskegon, responded to this review Hi T B,Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We strive to give you a great experience, and we are pleased to learn that we could meet your expectations in many ways, especially since you found the room clean and our staff friendly and welcoming and enjoyed the breakfast we served. Although I want to apologize for the noise that disrupted your sleep. All front desk clerks are instructed and trained on how to handle these types of issues and I'm very sorry they failed to correct this problem for you. We are also forever working to improve upon the guest experience and I hope you will remember our attributes and return to see how we have improved to impress you even more.
