    Highlight of our Trip

    rating17 May 2026

Absolutely the highlight of all the hotels we stayed at on our Türkiye trip. Stunning, spacious, beautifully and tastefully decorated, warm staff, amazing restaurant, lovely terrace with amazing views of the balloons and of the surrounding vistas, we couldn’t fault anything. We stayed in the Elegance suite which was perfect with its own jacuzzi and high ceilings for those with claustrophobia. Unforgettable. Excellent hotel

    rating06 May 2026

This is an excellent hotel. That is in very large part due to the staff, who are, without exception, very friendly and also very competent. (That even applies to the waiter who seemed to feel a need to man-splain the breakfast procedure to his - I admit I'm speculating here - long-suffering female colleague.)An example which is utterly trivial in itself, but which can stand in for the attention to detail throughout the hotel: the housekeeping staff unfailingly, every day, re-filled the water tank of the coffee machine.Beautiful setting, with panoramic views over "sword valley" and in the direction of Mt Erciyes. I was - full disclosure - paying for one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel. When I finish writing this review and TripAdvisor wants me to allocate itemised scores in each category, that will - I'm sorry - make it hard to give a full 5 for "value for money", but it was a very large bedroom, huge bathroom, huge balcony, all furnished with simple elegance. Extremely peaceful. Absolutely - see above - immaculate housekeeping. My only criticism, rather unusual for a "cave hotel", was that it was too bright in the early mornings. I try not to be a fussy sleeper, or traveller, but I think I'd have tried to hunt out an eye-mask if I'd stayed much longer. The restaurant is very good. The menu is mostly Anatolian classics plus some variations which are interesting rather than contrived. For example, after attempts on two separate days, my party were still no nearer working out how they do the delicious artichoke dish. Breakfast is lavish, and served rather than buffet. In addition to the antiques which give the hotel its name, there's also some entertaining wildlife pottering about the place. Three friendly dogs, in a range of sizes. Several tortoises. Leucistic peacocks ("now droops the milk-white peacock like a ghost" etc). And what initially appeared to be the result of an accident involving a chicken and cloning machine, but was actually, I think, most probably a Bokhara Trumpeter Pigeon.Well-situated for anything which you might want to see and do in Cappadocia, and, of course, easy access on foot to Uçhisar, its "castle", the valley below it, and to other good restaurants if you want some variation from the hotel. beautifully restored property, and lovely, attentive staff, but a few safety concerns

    rating28 Apr 2026

we visited with another couple who we have traveled the world with. This property is beautifully done and has many unique features architecturally and decoratively. Unlike another place, we have stayed here in Turkey, everything seemed to work, the towel heater, all the plumbing. The staff was very attentive, and the food at the restaurant was five star. The one thing I would say, and this is probably not unlike other properties in the area is that there are steep inclines with little lighting and no handrails. We arrived late at night due to the flight schedules and it had been raining. We were taken to a beautiful room which was through an outside courtyard and down exterior stairs, which were unlit, long, and very steep. The risers on the stairs are not even and some are quite high. There were other places with fewer steps, but with no railing at all. My husband raised this with a manager and was told: “well there’s no law that requires railings“ With such a high class property in so many other ways one would hope they would be a bit more attentive to the safety of their guests. luckily, we had no mishap. Nimet Gül Özcaş, Ev Sahibi at Museum Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the unique character of the property, the attentiveness of our team, and your dining experience. We would also like to kindly note that occupational and guest safety regulations in our country are legal requirements, and all of our environmental arrangements, including handrails, are in full compliance with the applicable safety standards and regulations. At the same time, we truly value guest feedback and continuously look for ways to further improve the overall comfort and experience of our visitors. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we truly hope to welcome you back again in the future.Best regards.

    10/10 Hotel Experience

    rating11 Apr 2026

Our experience at Museum Hotel was nothing short of incredible! The staff are incredibly helpful, kind, and hospitable - GRADE A SERVICE! The rooms are beautiful and unique; we were impressed by the upscale experience while still in a cave. THE VIEWS ARE INSANE! The daily breakfast started with a traditional Turkish spread and then lots of other food and drink options to add on - we loved all the egg dishes! Everything was fresh, local, and elevated - plus the restaurant is gorgeous! The hotel felt like a bit of an oasis as it’s away from the busyness of Goreme - but still close and convenient when we wanted to be in the action. If we have the opportunity to visit Cappadocia again - we will absolutely be staying at Museum Hotel again!
