Inconsistent service, untidy rooms, hit and miss food.

    rating29 May 2026

So close to greatness but falls flat where it matters. For reference we had a 4 month old child with us and 3 other children 4-14.First of all, we were initially assigned rooms on opposite sides of the resort, which is not helpful with young children. Thankfully this was solved after a 10 minute conversation. Props to the desk staff at the time, who were very welcoming and friendly. This wasn't always the case though. Seemed like one out of six reception staff knew what a smile was. It's worth noting here that we emailed the hotel straight after booking, politely asking that we be given two connecting rooms, or even adjacent rooms. We arrived to find out that this had not been considered at all, I don't even think our email was read.We were promised another bed would be brought to accommodate us in our new rooms, this never happened despite being promised by front desk staff, so my four year old slept on a broken sofa bed, which was really dirty when unfolded. The air conditioning is controlled centrally and you are not able to alter the temperature in your room. This would be acceptable if you're travelling without kids. But really hard to manage with young kids who are used to free access to the aircon while on holiday. Front desk said open a window, which is brilliant, unless you have a room with no windows?A large percentage of the resort is in disrepair, with limescale all over the shower heads and taps, blood or poo stains on the toilets, which are still present after the cleaners have visited by the way. The spa area is currently closed and the lift in our building was broke, so we had to use the staff lift, which is an exceptionally dirty area for some reason. Standing dirty water on the floor, bin bags full of rubbish and wet towels blocking entry/exit.On two ocassions my wife was using the lift and staff members forced a massive trolley in with her, not only nearly crushing her but stopping her from exiting the lift without forcing the trolley out, inconsiderate.Insects, we had been here about 24 hours and had more than five spiders inside the room and there was an ant colony living on our balcony. We didn't particularly care due to the closeness of nature, but you might. If you're planning on coming here with young children based on the pools and slides available, don't. The kids pool, where the slides are present reek of sewage and there are no baby changing facilities in any of the areas we had checked, which was everywhere that was publicly accessible.Unless you're getting fruit juices from the Sophia restaurant it is 90% water. Might as well just bring your favourite food dye and change your water to whatever 'flavour' you prefer.More than once we saw trays of drinks being set up at the bar and directly heard the bar staff say they were for room service, but when we called reception to ask we were told that this isn't a thing and nobody does it.We asked to be provided with some more water twice on account of having to sterilise and wash baby bottles, we were told this would be fine, but it did not happen. No big deal we just bought our own, but why not just say that instead of lying? If you're planning on using the pool and using floaties, bring your own. The onsite shop is a scam, I was told a floatie cost 345 lira, only to find out I'd actually been charged 3,450 lira. Something like £63, for an inflatable turtle. This behaviour is predatory and disingenuous. The market inside the hotel is open all day and most of the night, but on two occasions they conveniently had no change for Turkish lira on Eid with scores of Turkish guests present. It was only ever 10 or 20 lira but it seems you're expected to round up on every transaction despite everything on-site already being ridiculously priced.A cot was not provided for our infant so make sure you're happy co-sleeping, which certainly does not help with the heat.A positive note, some of the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Cihan and Tufan behind the bars who were always happy to see you. Ibrahim the guest relations manager was really nice and happy, shame this is not reflected down over. The housekeeping/cleaning is atrocious, we went three days without a bath mat so were having to use our already limited towel supplies on keeping the floor dry, this could've been lessened had the shower door actually shut properly and created a seal instead of our own in room aquapark. We also came back from a day in Hisaronu to discover our spare key had been taken and our other key no longer worked. The food was both good and bad, snack restaurant runs from 2 till 4, should have wider hours and better quality control. We saw lots of dishes go back for being undercooked. On-site buffet seems to cater to the nationalities that are most prevalent at the time so everything randomly went Asian based for the last four days of our stay when an influx of Chinese guests arrived. Some of the food was tasty and edible but, a lot of it was slop and inedible. Most importantly 90% of it was cold, even pretty much as soon as service started. Now its also worth noting the buffet restaurant might as well be a zoo, there is no courtesy or morals involved here the guests will physically try and take your place in queues or sneakily try and push in, while staff and management watch on. Rabid children of almost every nationality race around the restaurant almost causing accidents and leaving food all over the floor.During our stay a young girl hurt herself in the baby pool due to two grates missing screws, this issue took days to rectify. She had her foot stuck in the pool and ended up with a pretty nasty cut. Three days it took to replace 2 screws? I later found a sharp object in the exact same pool, a pool designated for small children should be checked over regularly to ensure the safety of your young guests.Maybe the Garcia should issue a screwdriver and hammer to guests on check in, then the 30 second fixes can be fixed in 30 seconds. Instead of 3 or 4 days.A lot of our issues could've been solved by continuing to complain with reception however it seems that no matter how polite and friendly you are, there are only one or two people willing to help without complained resistance. After all, you are on holiday, why should you spend all of your time at the front desk. This resort is allegedly five star, so in my opinion all of the above should be caught and remedied by the staff without the need for complaint. This is a very beautiful location with some lovely views and exceptional people, unfortunately let down by silly mistakes. We will definitely return to this part of Turkey, just maybe not to the Garcia.

    Garcia Resort and Spa

We all have different opinions , here’s mine regarding Garcia Resort and Spa . Second time we’ve been to the Garcia and won’t be the last . Here’s whyThe hotel is built on the side of mount Babadag , a 5 minute drive to the beach or Hisaronu in a spectacular location .The staff are so helpful and friendly , especially Ibrahim the customer liaison manager .The rooms are spacious with tea making facilities , a massive comfortable bed , a fridge , a tv and most importantly a massive balcony most with fantastic views over Oludeniz and mout Babadag .The hotel and rooms are very clean .The pool and sunbathing area are immaculate with a great bar and just the best bar staff and a recently build eating area where you can order great food from a limited menu . There are 6 pools , a smaller one for tots and another with great slides , a lifeguard is always present .The food , my favourite. I love the food at the Garcia , so much choice and desserts are amazing . The restaurant is always spotless ( when it opens anyway lol ) . We had bbq every week day which was a real bonus , I have put on a few pounds lol .My overall opinion of this hotel is brilliant and we will be returning and I would recommend it to anyone. The views , the excursions , the sea and the paragliding all fantastic.

Garcia Resort and Spa - we will be back!!!

We had a wonderful time, the hotel was clean and the pool was so clear and inviting! Food options were too good, oops! Views were to die for from our balcony and so close to amenities with a shuttle bus or cab to beach just 3 mins away! Bustling town of Hisaronu just 3 mins the other way where we found cheaper bars and shops! Lots of activities / excursions too x

    Fair review.

    rating25 May 2026

I feel bad putting only two stars but when you’re sold a hotel to a 5* hotel, you expect just that. We went as a family for a short break. To be fair, we didn’t check the reviews until after we booked which is our rookie mistake. The hotel has every potential, if money is invested (it needs a lot) to be excellent. The views are excellent, as is the location. When we first arrived we were taken to our room. The room absolutely stunk of damp and sewer. We were moved room, to a much nicer, bigger room, more ideal for our party size. You get toiletries and towels, however the room is not cleaned often, well ours wasn’t cleaned at all, just towels replaced once. No fresh bedding. The staff are friendly, no complaints. The new manager was lovely and wasn’t in denial about the task ahead. He was more than honest that the hotel needs work and I hope he gets the money he needs because his ideas to modernise the hotel were really good. Food in the Sophia restaurant wasn’t bad but could do with more hot meals I felt. The snack between 2-4 round the pool area, to me is a disaster. I ordered food and then asked for an extra portion of wedges, he said okay. Waited 15 minutes and they said sorry it’s finished now. It would be better to make people queue and just do burgers, chips and nuggets, instead of food to order because the turnaround time is too slow in the allocated slot. The hotel is very run down and honestly it’s a shame. I wouldn’t come back until I was sure it had renovation.

    Look elsewhere

    rating21 May 2026

First off this hotel should be closed and not advertised. We arrived at 12am and asked about food, we were taken to the kitchen and given cold soup with stale bread. Then the room… paint falling off the walls due to damp, bathroom has mould and stinks of drainage.Following day we went to the pool, there was chucks missing from the steps making it very dangerous but also painful if you were to catch your leg on them.Slides are only open for a short period and the pool snack bar opens for a few hours later in the day of which you have to order. No entertainment and just boring for the kids. There isn’t much of a choice when it comes to the restaurant compared to other hotels we have stayed at.After 2 days our room had not been cleaned and we had to ask twice for it to finally be done. One weeks stay and our room has been cleaned twice. However, we only paid £300 all-inclusive so had our room of been cleaned, I would not of been too bothered.I think the staff are doing as best they can with what they have, so it’s not their fault. The hotel has potential but alot of work is required and they are ruining any future visitors by keeping it open with bad feedback clearing flooding in
