Terrible hotel owner made our stay to nightmare
21 Jul 2019
The worst stay I have experienced in my life, the owner is careless and rude. The first day they charged us for the fridge and aircon without giving us the receipt. Our fridge didn't work the first day and we told a staffmember, he said we'd take a look tomorrow, the next day at breakfast we told the owner Charlie that the fridge doesn’t work, but he got angry and said “it’s working, it's working ”, I said “ no, yesterday our drinks were hot”, then he said again “no, it’s working, you go up”. It turned out that Charlie had made antoher staff memeber fix our fridge while we were eating breakfast, but he doesn't tell us that it’s fixed, he’s just saying “it’s working”, we didn't understand that someone repaired it. On the third day at 06:00 in the side room, we got up with the noise of a fight between a couple, they screamed badly and it was impossible to sleep, we waited until 6:30 but they still continued, they ruined our sleep, we went down to the reception and informed Charlie, the answer we received “ what can i do if they are fighting ”. He's so careless, and we had to listen to the fight for the rest of the morning . After these event Charlie never said hi or goodbye or looked at our faces. And when we gave the keys the last day, he didn't say nothing, what a weird man. I think the hotel is not a 3-star hotel, they do not change our towels, you have to ask for toilet paper at the reception when it’s empty (no extra toilet paper at the room) Excessive noise comes from the next rooms, every time you take a bath, the floor is full of water. I can not understand the good comments here, I do not recommend this hotel at all.

A cheap hotel with a sting in the tail
28 Jun 2019
Picked this hotel as the price was reasonable and according to the map, in a great area. Unfortunately this hotel was at the very end of the main street in Hisaronu, and was always a long walk into the main parts. I booked a twin room but was given a double in a very cramped tiny room, obviously this is what they try to palm off on the newer visitors to this area, but we have been visiting for 20 years, every year and know most of the tricks, I told the guy who carried our bags in, and he went and changed the room for a twin, that also had a fold down settee bed in it which made the room very small. The Wi-Fi was useless most days, even when you were sat right on top of it at the bar, the local restaurants and bars were much better. The cleanliness was excellent, the shower was always hot whatever time of day we used it, this was the only good point, as it overflowed onto the floor as the drainage plughole could not handle the amount of water. The toilet seemed to leak a brown liquid every day, which I hope was rust where it was bolted to the floor. The ants liked our room a lot and were in the bedroom and in the shower room, but ants don't bother me, the mosquitoes did, but that's to be expected. The beds were hard and the pillows were wafer thin. The usual 1 rough top sheet is your bedcover, but is usual in Turkey. Every day we were there, there wasn't a single sunbed to be had as they all had towels on them, all day. Breakfast was the worst we have ever had, I expected basic Turkish breakfast, but this was beyond basic. There was what looked like a fruit juice machine with something spinning in it, with a dispenser, but this was actually cold water, no juice at all. Breakfast consisted of tasteless slices of cheese, tomatoes, 3 kinds of olives, 5 kinds of jams, some dry sliced bread from baton, and occasionally there were hard boiled eggs, and round pink meat that I have no idea what it was, I never once saw the staff eating the same food. Hence we spent the week having breakfast at the Hi 5 Bar, or Del Boys Restaurant every day.The "piece de resistance" was the owner, Charlie, called that as he was not cheerful at all, ever, just a grumpy old man who never even smiled. The staff were mostly cheery and friendly, but on the very last day he managed to spoil our whole holiday. Just to give you a heads up, we always ask for non smoking quiet room, which means we're away from the pool area and usually at the back of any hotel, where the sun doesn't shine, negating the necessity for air conditioning, which we never ask for (which is extra at this hotel), as just having the windows open is fine for us, my girlfriend always uses the horse blankets (both) on top of her sheet, just to give you an idea that we really don't need air con. He accused us on the last day of using the air con (without a control) by, in his words "turning off the power where the key slots in and pressing a button on the air con, then turning the power on by reinserting the key" I'm sure there are some electrical guys who know that I'm sure it can't be bypassed this way at all, why he didn't say this to us at the start of the week or the middle etc. I denied this of course but he wouldn't have it and told me not to return, even though he didn't know we weren't going to return anyway. I was also told that the week we booked was normally a lot more expensive, probably why it hadn't appeared on our hotel radar before, save your money much better places in a more central area. It's such a shame that he left us this bitter taste in our mouths, and I'm sure this trick will try to be facilitated again, so be warned, I know there are better hotels than this that we have stayed at and had no problem at all - Ocean Blue (our favourite) , The Han, Happy Nur, Celay Hotel, Millennium Hotel, and many more we have stayed at, plus Olu Deniz Hotels.
