  The service at the front desk is excellent. I had an issue with a cancellation initiated through my corporate travel center and Nicole was able to help me resolve it. As someone who travels on business every month I tend to stick with brands that provide the best customer service when things go wrong, especially when they are my mistake as was the case in this instance.   Got the wrong room twice, just dealt with it. Pull out couch didn’t have pillows or blankets. Called and requested some and they never came. Service was just lame.   Four-night business stay at this hotel for the first time. Overall a fine stay. The rooms definitely could use a refurbishment. The pool is not heated so don’t expect to enter unless you want to do a cold plunge. The hot water in the bathroom sink was broken. Didn’t realize until I unpacked and since the cold water wasn’t freezing, it wasn’t a big deal. Staff was pleasant.   Marriott is a hotel chain I can usually count on to deliver what I want in a place of lodging. I usually feel good when I choose Marriott, and my recent stay at the Houston Marriott Energy Corridor confirms why I feel the way I do about this popular hotel chain. Houston Marriott Energy Corridor is located right next to Interstate 10 at the intersection with Highway 6. The ten- story hotel is difficult to miss, and parking is free, which is always a plus, since it can get annoying when you have to pay extra just to place your car in a space. Walking inside the Houston Marriott Energy Corridor, you are greeted by a clean lobby and a bar. The check in is efficient and the staff is ready to help any way they can. Breakfast is complimentary, at least it was for me, and I found it good, but I noticed that many of the items were not hot, even though I could see the flame directly underneath the metal container. Still, it was fine overall, and I like that I didn’t have to pay extra. With the rooms, mine was clean as a whistle and the only thing I would change about it is the fact that there was only a single sitting chair. Having a second chair would have been nice for me and my wife. The bed was comfortable and we had no problem getting the temperature in the room to our liking. The comfort of the room easily met our standards, and as a result, we spent more time in the room than expected. There was a small issue with maintenance, in the restroom: the faucet in the tub was coming loose from the wall. But this didn’t interfere with our stay, and it’s something the maintenance staff can easily fix.Outside, there is a pool and a firepit. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the price, it is quite good- less than most other Marriott locations in the Houston area. All things considered, this is a very good choice for lodging, and it easily meets my standards for hotels wearing the Marriott logo.
