  What a gem

  We've stayed here for 4 days and have had a wonderful time. The front desk staff are very helpful in their recommendations for food and attractions. We enjoyed a delicious buffet prepared fresh on site by Susan every morning. Outstanding. We stayed in room 204 with a ocean view. Although we had air conditioning in the room, we enjoyed opening the windows fully to enjoy afternoon breezes.

  Dangerous hotel. Please don't pay them in advance

  To begin with this hotel is a security risk for families with kids. This was my third Istanbul trip and I have not experienced the worst behaviour from the hotel, this hotel is run by goons and very dangerous man. We booked the hotel for 5 nights, took a 5 hour flight to Istanbul, it took us approximately 1 hours to collect the baggage and almost 2 hours taxi journey from Sabina Gockhen airport to Sultanahmet. You can imagine this was a very tiring journey, We woke up at 4:30 a.m in the morning and since then was in transit.The lady at the reception was polite, she gave us the room keys. She told us to check in and asked us to the baggage to the room. We checked in the room and felt that the room was hot. The room only had two windows with small opening and couldn't be opened further. Within 5 minutes we called the reception lady and asked her if the air conditioner was working and where can we find the remote. She said that she will call the manager and ask as she doesn't know where the remote is and if the ac's were working. Having and air-conditioned room was the part of booking agreement. As you can all understand that we were extremely tired due to 10 hour journey from our home to the hotel and every one wanted to use the bathrooms. We used the bathrooms and kids sat on the bed to rest.After waiting for 20 minutes, we again called the reception and asked the lady about the air conditioner, she said she is waiting for the manager. We waited again and then again after 25-30 minutes my wife went down again and enquired about the air conditioner if they are working or not, the reply was same that I don't know and I am waiting for the manager. We waited again for sometime and realised that the hotel is lying and they air conditioner is either broken or they are trying to save the electricity.I then decided to go down to the reception and speak to the lady as we figured out something fishy is going on. I asked her again that she is waiting for there manager, however at the sae time I saw a huge man wearing white vest a shirt with a band on his had, looking like a dangerous person entering the home, I had a feeling that he is the one uncharge, but then I decided to deal the with the reception lady.I went out to scout for other hotels, after 15 minutes I came back and saw the lady standing near the lift waiting landing the groceries and waiting for the same man who was carrying some stuff and loading in the lift.I took the stairs and went upstairs, me and wife decided that these people are lying, better to move out to another hotel. We packed our bags and found a hotel near by and went downstairs to the reception. There we found another person sitting there smoking and the receptionist. We asked her again where is the manager she said he just arrived and called the same man who was unloading the groceries half an hour back. I told him that the ac's are not working, were you informed, he said I just came and will check. We said no we want to leave and don't want to stay in the hotel, he started to shout and yell that no you cannot leave, since you have used the room and you have to pay for one full day since you used the room and I will call the Police. Since he was yelling in front of mu kids, I decided to pay him for half day since he was acting like a goon and his body language was extremely aggressive. For my 44 Euros was peanuts to pay him like a charity.Thanks God we found a hotel nearby and me moved there, where we had spent our holidays at peace. Agora hotel, told booking.com that we didn't showed up, booking.com also supported them despite we explained the entire situation.The ratings are all manipulated, this hotel deserves a rating of 6, please beware and don't pay them in advance. When you reach there keep your luggage in reception and check the room condition, Air conditioner and or heater and then pay or else they will force you like they did with us.

  Excellent hotel near the principal attraction of Istanbul, the street around are filled with many restaurant and shop. The room are good for two people, the suite is very impressive. Wifi is in the average for normal use but not for uploading large file. The breakfast is in the average. They arrange for us all the transfer from and to airport and take us checked baggage when why go to goreme. One night in the all area is a heavy blackout but the power backup system provide all energy for the hotel

  It was a nice place with a friendly staff who helped us with their advices ranging from attraction, getting around. Nice breakfast and sea view, clean rooms.You can always approach the members of the hotel for anything.

  Talking about this hotel, we may say only warm words!Very good location, friendly stuff and tasty breakfasts, cooked by Suzana.From breakfast room balcony you may enjoy beautiful sea view.Rooms are clean and comfortable. Thank you Anna and Miriam - very possitive and smiling ladies.Hotel manager Mashalla always helps you by the best way. He knows a lot of interesting facts about Istanbul and history. Just ask him!It was our second time and hope we will come again!
