  What's nice about this place is the location - very close to Taksim and Cumhuriyet Cadd., still with a local feel. The daylight conditions in the room I had were very good as well as the open views to the neighborhood across the hill. The rest was unfortunately poor or average at best. At arrival, a lady who only spoke Turkish, let me in - however "hosgeldiniz" does not seem to be part of her vocabulary. She did not instruct me how to re-enter the house and forgot to give me the access code for the front door. As the reception is only open for a few hours during daytime, this meant that I was stranded without access to the house in the middle of the night. The same person doubles up as cleaning lady and although I had agreed with the manager to check out at 1pm while she was present, the following happened and really put me off for good: I left the house briefly at 9am on my day of check out to deposit my suitcase with the airline. When I came back half an hour later, I met the stroppy lady in my room. She had thrown all my remaining belongings, including clothes, in the litter bin. As she had apparently messed with the safe box - which is clearly none of her business - this failed to open much to my distress. Major transgressions. However, instead of being sorry, she just shrugged and alerted some person who lives in a remote part of the city and took 2 hours to arrive to the property.Don't expect self catering facilities. The kitchen unit is an empty shell without any kitchen tools or basic ingredients provided whatsoever. With the exception of a 12cm Ø saucepan - this is just about big enough to boil two eggs. Otherwise nothing provided.The bed has mediocre mattresses and there is no reading light - so not too much comfort to be expected there either.Heavy smoking is in operation in other rooms and public areas.So if you speak perfect Turkish, don't expect comfort or a timely and professional management and if you enjoy your clothes being thrown in the bin, you'll have a great time here.
