    Terrible experience in Aruna hotel

    rating07 Dec 2025

I'd like to share my impressions of checking into the Aruna Hotel on November 26, 2025, to save others from a ruined vacation. I booked a Standard Double Room with a king-size bed. Having read good reviews, I was in a positive mood and didn't expect any problems. Once in the room, I was surprised to find there was no kettle, no tea/coffee, and no water. But I was lucky with my neighbors in the same building, who lent me a kettle for the evening. A little later, I noticed there wasn't even a normal closet for clothes, the bed was definitely not a king-size, and the room itself looked very strange. It had nothing similar with the photos on the website. The walls weren't even painted; they were just plain concrete. And the "table" was a concrete ledge with a countertop attached... You can see this "table" in the photo. The temperature in the bathroom was very cold. I contacted the service I used to book this hotel and asked to confirm the room size and bed size. A very nice girl quickly told me that my room should be at least 22 square meters and the bed should be king-size. I sent them the photos and they were very surprised. I had a tape measure with me and quickly measured everything. It became clear that the room was much smaller and the bed was definitely not king-size. But the problem wasn't even that; the necessary items were missing and everything looked terrible. I also had a feeling it would be better not to sort things out with these people overnight; nothing good would come of it. And this feeling was correct. In the morning, I went over and told them that I hadn't been placed into the Standard Double, which, judging by its size and features, I had booked. To which they irritatedly replied that yes, it wasn't a Standard, but a Superior room)) And the Standard Double was even smaller and worse)) It turns out I'd been upgraded to a good room, but I hadn't appreciated it... But if I wasn't happy, they could move me to my Standard room. I replied that I'd like to see the room first before moving in. They refused, as it turned out it was occupied... I replied that I wouldn't move in blindly. To which the Russian-speaking girl said that it wasn't up to me to decide, and that I should pack my bags and after 12 o'clock they'd move me there!!)) I replied that I am not in prison to listen to their orders, and I will not move in without seeing the room. I already knew that I not gonna stay in this dump under any circumstances. I immediately booked another hotel and arranged a taxi. The hotel turned out to be much better and it was not more expensive. The room was beautiful, cozy, and clean, with everything done with care for the guests. Of course, there was a convenient closet, a kettle, a beautiful, warm bathroom, clean linens, and aesthetics in every detail. I forgot to mention that Aruna hotel also has internet issues, and guests periodically come to reception to complain. And in the morning, I also had "pleasure" to have breakfast in the cafeteria, which is located in the basement with poor lighting and a meager selection of dishes. I'm so glad I escaped this terrible hotel and didn't ruin my entire vacation. And it's scary to imagine what elderly people would find themselves in a similar situation. But if you or your relatives do end up in this hotel and encounter the same "service" and poor internet, I'd advise simply leaving and checking out the hotels on the surrounding streets. There are plenty of small, decent hotels in the area where the receptionists speak Russian or English. You can book right there and get help with luggage and taxi. And once you're in a safe place, you can sort out the refund for the days you didn't stay. I've attached photos to my review. If I can, I'll add a video too. Wishing everyone to choose a right hotel for vacation.
