    Excellent location just up the hill from Galata Bridge and down the hill from Galata Tower. Simple and comfortable accommodations with all the modern conveniences overseen by attentive, friendly, and helpful staff.

    A hotel where the staff does not listen to the customer complaints about the room, maybe because they only speak Turkish :(, does not meet my expectations. In addition, room and, especially, bathroom cleaning is less than acceptable.The air conditioning took over an hour to cool the steaming hot room and the construction next door did not help either.     We were in Istanbul with friends for a celebration, and effectively took over the hotel. The staff were all incredibly helpful, working with us through the planning of the events, and even helping out with some immediate problem solving when we needed ice at 1 in the morning!The rooms are all different, but all very clean and comfortable. The location can't be beat: the hotel is in Karakoy, but only a little bit up the hill, making it an easy struggle when returning to the hotel after a long evening out enjoying the city. Having stayed in several hotels in Istanbul on past trips, the Bankerhan will be my go-to hotel for return visits.
