Great Location and Friendly Staff Make Up for the City Hills!

    rating15 May 2026

I stayed at the Diamon Beyazit Hotel and had a great experience overall. The location is fantastic—just off the main streets, which means you get a quieter spot away from the hustle and bustle, but you’re still close enough to easily explore Istanbul’s vibrant culture. The hotel looks out onto back streets, so don’t expect big views, but it adds to the authentic feel.Walking down from the main street to the hotel was easy, but the uphill walk back was definitely a workout—classic Istanbul hills! I was traveling with kids and a pushchair, and while some parts were a bit tough, we managed fine. Istanbul’s streets can be challenging, but that’s part of the adventure. One thing I love about Istanbul is its incredible mix of cultures. There’s a strong Asian influence, especially in the food and markets, which adds so much variety and flavor to the city. I enjoyed exploring local gems like Bakirkoy Market (open only on Saturdays) and Mehmut Pasa Bazaar. Both places had amazing prices—especially Bakirkoy Market, which is mostly visited by locals—and the quality of clothing and goods was really impressive. Great finds at great prices! The hotel itself was busy during my stay. There’s no breakfast, lunch, or dinner served on-site, but that wasn’t a problem at all because there are plenty of fantastic food spots nearby to try.The rooms were not cleaned every day, which was a bit annoying, but honestly, we were usually too busy and tired from our days exploring to complain.A special shoutout to Suleiman, the manager, and the rest of the staff—they were always ready to help and gave excellent advice. When I had an issue with the big taxi (bi taks), they stepped in and helped me out, which made my stay even better. All in all, Diamon Beyazit Hotel is a nice, budget-friendly choice with a great location away from the busiest streets but close enough to get to all the places you want to visit. If you want a comfortable, friendly place to rest after exploring Istanbul’s amazing shopping, food, and culture, I highly recommend it!

    Very clean, limited breakfast

    rating12 Apr 2026

I recently stayed at the Beyazit Palace Hotel and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were spacious and noticeably clean, the kind of cleanliness that actually makes a difference when you’re travelling and want to feel comfortable and at ease. The hotel itself has a great atmosphere, and its location in the Sultanahmet district, right in the heart of the old town, puts you just steps away from iconic spots like the Grand Bazaar and Süleymaniye Mosque, which is a huge plus if you want to explore without spending half your day commuting. On the downside, I found the breakfast offering a bit limited in terms of variety. While the hotel does offer a buffet breakfast, I would have appreciated a wider selection to start the day. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely something worth improving. All in all, a solid choice for anyone looking for a clean, well-located stay in Istanbul. I’d come back, but hopefully with a more varied breakfast spread!

    Small but functional

    rating07 Mar 2026

Stayed here towards the end of February. The room was small - that’s why I’ve given it an “average” rating. The breakfast buffet was very good with a lovely view out towards the river. The hotel is situated in the Faith area so is a 20 minute walk to the Blue Mosque/ Topaki Palace/ Hagia Sophia Mosque and a 3 minute walk to the tram line which will bring you down to these places too.The room was cosy& clean with underfloor heating and the bathroom was clean. Can’t fault it really as I wasn’t there for the room! Grand for somewhere to put your head at night. All the guys on the desk were very helpful.

    Good

    rating01 Feb 2026

The hotel is well situated near Ordu Caddesi and it is outstanding for its helpful staff. We stayed a week. Initially I had a noisy room but the night manager sorted out the noisy people and arranged for me to have a better room afterwards. My friend’s room had no problems. The weather was cold but indoors it was well heated. The coffee could be improved but otherwise the breakfast is good. The menu did not change but there were so many things on offer that it was no problem. I would certainly return there.

Very small room for the advertised Standard Double and no Spa, massage or sauna onsite

    rating09 May 2025

The location of the hotel is excellent for access to main tourist sites in Sultanahmet, including the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), Cistern Basillica, etc. All within walking distance, though it's close to the Laleli tram stop too.All the staff were excellent and very helpful. The view from the breakfast terrace was lovely. However we objected to being put in a tiny room when we'd paid for a Standard Double. Those who've written good reviews were fortunate to have got larger rooms, which did exist, but ours was definitely not what we thought we'd paid for. The manager insisted it was and we didn't agree. After 2 days of not unpacking, as rooms would become free after that time, he offered us a triple room for extra cost, but not a larger room to match our booking as we'd been led to believe. See the photos and see what you think. We were in room 207.If we'd got a decent room we'd have left a better rating for sure with generally positive comments, but as we felt misled and short changed, let's see what else was lacking.• The bathroom door wouldn't shut - but this was fixed when reported• The wardrobe was not properly secured to the wall (it wobbled).• The safe inside the wardrobe was not secured at all. You could pick it up and run with it!. We didn't report these as it would cause us more disturbance to have them fixed while we were there.• The shower screen was too small, so water splashed out onto the main floor, causing it to flood. We had to use towels just to soak up the water. Others have already reported this issue (perhaps it was the same room)• The motion detector lights on the stairs were too insensitive. You could walk up or down a level into the dark before the lights of the level you were walking to came on (no windows for natural light to come in).• There's no Spa or Sauna or Massage facilities at the hotel. The manager said they partner with "Sultan Suleyman Hamam" - see picture. This was annoying as it HAD influenced our choice of hotel to book. We ended up enjoying a Spa at another more local Hamam Spa.If only we'd been given a the room we'd expected this would have been so different and we'd have enjoyed our time in the hotel much more.We still enjoyed the rest of our holiday in Istanbul.
