I stayed for two nights and I would not recommend a very proud hotel and go again, difficult to find a hotel on the map shows good sites, but I do not recommend the wrong and very loud hotel, very rude people don't know how to answer the phone..

Not a place for large family

I booked different hotel but due to 'some reason' which I believed overbooking I was transferred to this hotel which is actually an apartment with locals located just next to Seven Days Hotel. Blue Istanbul Hotel (Actually Instanbuliyat Apartment - The actual name) and Seven Days Hotel have the same management.Extra blankets / pillows you need to request hours in advanced. For small family with 1-2 kids I would say maybe it's OK.

    The ugly face of Istanbul

It's basically a subsidiary of the notorious "Blue Istanbul Hotel". It runs "bait & switch" scheme on the travelers who already have a reservation. I'd strongly advice anyone to steer clear of this property.

we have stayed 12 days in this hotel and got frustrated as some time there is no water and reception staff has no knowledge of hospitality they will knock at your door if your kid has talked in loud voice in the room you can here voices on 4th floor if people talk at the reception, old and torn towels and linen, if you book two rooms at arrival they will give you one room at 4th floor and one at underground floor and if you ask for same floor you have to pay extra money better to look for another option in same area there are several good hotels and not to get trapped in this Micky mouse hotel

    A good place to stay

We stayed at the Blue Istanbul Suites for 3 weeks. The hotel is right next to the building we stayed at. You check-in there and then go to the other building next door, which seems to be a building where locals live as well and some of the apartments are managed by the Blue Istanbul Hotel and are rented to tourists. I have to say that I didn't like the building (it was very shabby), but our apartment was good. It was clean and big enough for the two of us. The apartment had a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room with a kitchen and a balcony. It also had air conditioning in the living room and in the bedroom, which was very nice. For the price we payed and considering this is an apartment where people probably stay longer than only for a few days I would have expected a washing machine, which was not the case. There wasn't too many dishes either, but after asking at the reception they gave us a few more cups. There was no soap for the dish washer or anything provided. We bought soap, coffee, tea and sugar. We then left for a trip for one week and when we came back everything (including the soap for the dish washer was gone). Don't know what happened to it. Other than that the kitchen had an oven (so you can cook, if you want) and a fridge. The living room had a sofa and a table. I would advise the management to either clean the sofa from time to time or to get a new one. It had quite a lot of stains. The balcony is ok, you can see the sea when you stand up...it's a little annoying that the balcony has no umbrella (it gets hot in Istanbul) and hardly any railing so people from other apartments can look right onto your balcony. Not so great if you want to take a little sunbath while people are staring at you. The bathroom and the bedroom were good and the apartment was cleaned every day. The first two weeks we had very noisy neighbors. The apartment had to be the same size as ours, but it sounded like there were at least 15 people in it every day. They were loud and banging the doors during the day and at night. If you need anything you can go to the reception, which is next door and they will help you. They were very friendly while we stayed at the Blue Istanbul Suites. The location is good. The Blue Istanbul is in one of the backstreets of Sultanahmet and within walking distance to the major sights. It's a little hilly at this part of town so you'll get some exercise while walking around. ;) You walk about 7 minutes to the Hippodrome and the Cemberlitas tram station is also only a little walk away. If you are not looking for anything fancy I can recommend this hotel to you.
