  Fine accommodation, with no introduction or entry instructions!!

  So we booked Brickpalas for 2 nights during our last two days in Istanbul as we wanted to stay around Taksim area. The area is decent and about a 10 min walk to Taksim square.Pros:1. The studio room is decently sized2. Equipped with a kitchen for basic cooking and utensils3. Location is good4. Owner was helpful when I could finally reach him after a day, and booked us a cab for airport with a decent and reasonable driver and helped on missing stuff Cons:1. Worst experience ever to get inside the apartment. No instructions provided by the owner and no way to contact them as well. It took us over an hour to get inside the apartment as we wer trying to reach them. No one answered the building door.2. Staff is never available and did not provide any instruction except for handing over the keys.3. No soaps, dish washing soap, and basic amenities were not sufficiently stocked4. No balcony, can barely step out 5. Only 2 glasses and wine glasses in the room, which is too less. Staff never responded to the door bell and not available in the building6. Many Lights weren’t working in the room making it quite dim

  To stay ok but shouldn't expect much comfort from this place (Very Small space for accommodation) especially when taking a walk around doesn't feel so safe. On my next visit i will look for better location in Istanbul for sure.

  We really enjoyed our stay at Brick Palas. We stayed on the top floor and had an awesome private rooftop deck. The location was good, the service was great and the rooms were so nicely decorated. I loved the colours, furniture and added touches to the room. They had great amenities too (shampoo/tea/coffee/toothbrushes..).

  Room: StudioExcellent, came with satellite TV, little living room, nice bed, small kitchen. All very new. Bathroom: nice shower, all very newHotel:Very clean, but note that there is no reception - you have a code for the door and a key for the roomLocation:About 15-20 minutes by foot from the bus drop-off from the airport at Taksim square. Near to all of the bars and restaurants

  I have been to istanbul 6 times and Brick Palas is by far the best accommodation. 1) Location: Its located very close to Taksim and surrounding the hotel are charming cafes and convenient stores that make you really just want to stay in the area. The only hindsight is that it might be a challenge for older people to drag their luggages from the hotel to the nearest metro (Taksim) as you would have to walk up hill for around 10 minutes. Neighbourhood is very quiet at night yet very centralized. Perfect location to wander around and yet come back to a good night's rest! 2) Room condition:The online pictures truly reflect the actual room condition, which is very rare to find! We stayed in room number 6 and we had a sitting area with a small balcony. The kitchenette has quite a good set of cooking tools which we used almost every night. We were surprised to find that there was house-keeping every day except Sunday, and the lady really did a fantastic job in ensuring that the rooms are kept clean, and replenished everything that was used or running low. The only non-positive comment is that the toilet is rather small and i wish the hotel provided washing machine in every room so that we can do our laundry at our own convenience. Nonetheless , they do have a laundry service at the reception.3) Staff:Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definately come back to stay in Brickpalas.
