  Centrally-located, budget-friendly, with an elevator

  We were looking for a budget-friendly, centrally-located hotel with an elevator in the old city, and that’s exactly what we got. Yes, the hotel is a little tired; however, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful; the room was clean; breakfast and wifi were both included; and from there, we could walk everywhere (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern - all a very short walk away, say, 300-500m); as well, you can walk a little further to the Grand Bazaar or Spice Market, or catch the T1 tram which is very close to the hotel. For the price of the hotel, we were extremely pleased overall.

  A very rude manager and a terrible place to spoil your holidays

  The only good thing about this hotel is its location, apart from this there is not a single thing good about it. We booked two double win rooms with three children but we only found one double bed in each room with the size a bit bigger than a single bed; One room had a small guest bed with a very cheap quality mattress where you can feel every single spring of the bed. Upon asking at reception as we only have 5 spaces for 6 guests, the receptionist was unable to resolve the problem and was so scared to speak to the manager on the phone who was having some private time on the top roof of the same building. As we insisted the manager came down in a very angry mood and said he could not provide the sixth space as we did not request for a child bed in advance. This is so ridiculous and never had this experience anywhere in any hotel. We had clearly mentioned the number of adults and children when booked the hotel but they refused to fix the issue as they said we should have have separately requested for spare bed for a child. We asked the manager if we could speak to someone higher than him who knew how to speak to the guests at a hotel, so he said 'I am the manager of managers here' and I cannot do anything for you. He further said you guys had disturbed me whilst he was having dinner. I told him and my children are tired and starving here as we have been trying here to get space for our child where he could sleep. The room size was so tight that they could only fit those small sized double bed in there. Air Con controller was not working in one of the rooms. Cupboard handles and shower heads were broken in both rooms. I have taken some pictures of the chipped walls and broken skirting board. This manager never said 'Hello' when we first arrived at the reception to check in by the way. I can provide the pictures of the rooms if requested. Don't spoil your holidays by booking with Burckin Hotel.

  Burckin Hotel is Absolutely Gorgeous

  Burckin Hotel is Absolutely Gorgeous, lovely staff, working very hard all day and night, very friendly and helpful. Easy check in , clean and modern room, towels and bedding was changed every day. Breakfast with big sort of menu , all fresh and high level of service. Decoration in the hotel excellent condition and standards. We spent one week in Istanbul and we are looking to comeback to this lovely place with very friendly people. Thank you for extra support during Istanbul Marathon, Adek and Joanna

  Very disappointing with what I found compared to what I was shown at the airport. The room was very small , dark and beside that the bathroom was dirty. The shower had mold and hairs on the floor. When I told that to the receptionist he told me :"ok, sorry I'll tell my manager tomorrow "and after he ignored me completely. Only service that was nice was the transportation from the airport included in the package. I don't recommend it for the price.

  Horrible Breakfast and Room

  I was very disappointed with this hotel. I arranged a room with a view - and the view we got was a tiny window positioned close to the main street. Me and my mum stayed here for 4 days - and we were terribly disappointed. our room was very dusty and extremely dark - no lights in the corridor no variety of breakfasts - everything seemed expired - the tea and coffee were outdated (tasted like water).the lift was working on and off - and sometimes we had to walk up to our room because the lift was inoperative. Poor Quality service - the hotel room was also smelly - and there was no tea or coffee - the room was extremely small we could barely move. the toiletries were horrible - the toothpaste had only air inside it and no actual paste - the toilet smelled a lot Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to this hotel
