This hotel lies on the historic peninsula of Istanbul, only minutes from Sultanahmet Square, the heart of the Old City and home to many of the city's landmarks, including Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Guests will find restaurants, shops, links to the public transport network and the train station all within easy walking distance and Taksim, with its bars and nightlife, is around a 10-minute ride away using public transport.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1900. 23 non-smoking rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning, individually adjustable heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features.     Wonderful stay at Garden House Hotel

    We loved this small, well-run family-run hotel. Its local character charmed us and it is less than 10 min walk to the Blue mosque. Our room was very comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking the garden (and even a glimpse of the sea on the horizon). It was lovely. The noise from the restaurant in the garden didn't bother us at all; on the contrary, the soft oriental music was very pleasant and set the tone for our holiday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The lunch buffet was perfectly adequate, with a selection of cereals, eggs, ham, and cakes, and we particularly enjoyed the apricots and cherry jam. The hotel restaurant also offers a delicious menu for lunch and dinner. We will cherish the memories of our stay at the Garden House Hotel and hope to return someday.

    We visited this hotel on new years eve with my family. The hotel was amazing especially their rooms and the staffs. They were super friendly, kind and helpful. Speaking of their services, I totally recommend visiting their restaurant; the kitchen was delicious especially kunefe, meatballs and lahmacun. If you are visiting you should definitely try them out!! With my family whenever we visit Istanbul, this hotel is going to be our first choice!! 10/10 Loved it!!     Disappointing stay

    We chose this hotel very much based on the hundreds of excellent reviews here but sadly it didn't quite live up to our expectations. Lovely old building and excellent location for the main sights. We chose a room with balcony but the balcony was tiny but it was nice in terms of the view and looking down into the courtyard below. The room was OK, quite small and the bathroom was tiny with an awkward shape. Shower was good but the toiletries are bright neon pink and blue shower/hand gels - almost like washing up liquid! Definitely no luxurious feel about it. The staff is lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was hugely disappointing. Worst hotel breakfast I have ever had to be honest. There's a toaster but no actual toasting-type bread (just buns and some small baguette type slices). Poor amount of fruit and dreadful cereal choices. The "hot dishes" were contained in one place which was always rubbery scrambled egg and hard boiled egg with a change each day for the third item which was on two occasions awful chicken nuggets and what seemed like left over spring rolls. Usual processed meat and cheese slices and a few tomatoes and cucumbers. The fruit juices were uninspiring in basic jugs with small glasses. No finesse, no luxury, no "spoilt for choice" feel. I was hoping for various breads, granolas, better fruits, delicious honeys, even an omelette station. What is strange is that as this is effectively the popular 1897 restaurant later on, then how could they not provide a better breakfast? There are a few sofas in the lobby area but the free coffee is a machine with some basic paper cups. Also, again given its connection to the 1897 restaurant, it would have been nice to be able to just have a few drinks/bottle of wine after returning from a day of sight-seeing but that was not a facility.Again, like most of the city, would not be easy if you had any type of reduced mobility.
