  Excellent hotel

  An excellent hotel. Perfect location, smart hotel and really excellent service. All staff couldn’t have been more helpful, without exception. It’s by a train line so a little noisy, but that’s really not a big deal, especially when you consider the overall location, and I’m a fussy sleeper. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

  We booked this hotel because of its proximity. We were not disappointed!We were in a great position for the sites, restaurants and bars. The staff were excellent, especially Salih at reception. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, we were greeted with a smile from all staff and “good day, how are you”. They gave us recommendations for local restaurants and booked taxis for us. Our room was lovely, we had a balcony room, over looking the historic ruins of the Byzantine Palace and the sea. The sunrises were beautiful. There was a tv but not a smart tv, we couldn’t find anything in English. We didn’t actually mind as we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway and we had our iPads and kindles. They decorated our room with rose petals as it was a special occasion. The breakfast was a typical Turkish style one and very nice. Everything was beautiful and very clean. Highly recommend this hotel.   This hotel is located in the heart of the old city of Istanbul - Sultanahmet which makes it perfectly situated for access to the main attractions of the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica cistern and grand bazaar et al. Surrounded also by excellent restaurants and shops which cater to all your tastes. The staff are super friendly, especially Salih and Benče, who gave us many helpful recommendations for activities and fooderies. The hotel features sauna, steam room, gym for guests as well. There is also a lovely breakfast room with extensive terrace overlooking some Roman ruins and the Marmary sea. Beautiful. There is a train line that runs by but infrequently and not invasively. I have stayed in other hotels in Istanbul which were not a patch on this place. The twin room we had was not large but it had a well appointed marble en suite bathroom with a jacuzzi bath tub. The view was to die for and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the free wifi had strong connectivity. In short, all our needs were well met. Highly recommended place to stay.   Fantastic Hotel in Istanbul: Great Views and Off-Season Deals

  The GLK Premiere was a fantastic hotel to stay at in Istanbul. Here are my thoughts on the hotel!The Room:-I stayed in one of the rooms with a Blue Mosque view–it was totally worth the minimal upgrade cost-The room had a comfortable queen bed–only one large blanket is provided, so if you get cold easily or would like additional bedding, make sure to ask the hotel staff-The images from management make the rooms look a little bigger, but they are still a decent size-There is in-unit air conditioning–a big plus for people who like to sleep cold-Curtains fully closed, allowing guests to block out almost all light-Huge Plus: Room had two balconies–one large one with a table and great views of the sea, and a mostly unobstructed view of the Blue Mosque, and another smaller balcony with a better view of the Mosque-Balcony doors can be propped open, allowing guests to let in fresh air-The room has a fully stocked mini-fridge–the prices are a bit high (buy snacks, water, and alcohol from nearby stores much cheaper), and only one water bottle is included in a city where you can't drink the tap water-The room also has a safe–allowing guests to securely store valuables -The bathroom is a European-style bathroom–make sure you have enough towels to put down on the floor to avoid water getting all over the floor-May have to ask the staff to refill body wash, shampoo, and hand soap–they did not automatically refill it for me, even though it was running low-Make sure you take the extra hotel card out of the power slot when leaving, or cleaning staff will take it, and you will have to ask for another one-Cleaning crew starts early in the morning–make sure the Do Not Disturb sign is up if you plan to sleep in-The walls were pretty thin since it is an old building, so I heard my neighbors a bit, but everyone quieted down around 11 PM each night-An ashtray is provided, and you can smoke on the balcony, but of course not in the roomAmenities: -There is a very nice hotel restaurant with a view of the sea–I did not eat here, but it looked very nice-Small bar with a television in the hotel lobby-Orbitz says the hotel offers 24-hour pickup and drop-off to the airport; however, this service is not available for all guests–make sure you check the hotel's site ahead of time for the terms and conditions if you are planning on using this service, otherwise you will have to take a taxi-The hotel staff are very friendly and gave me a great city map when I arrivedLocation:-This hotel is in a fantastic location–you are just minutes away from the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, and the major tram stop-The hotel is also near a great path where you can walk along the water, see the sunset, enjoy interacting with the city's famous cats, and see great views of the city along the Bosphorus Strait-It is at the bottom of a big hill, so you will get your steps in every day, but it is something to consider for people who have trouble with walking long distances and up hills -It is a very quiet residential neighborhood, so you will not have to worry about outside noise-You are located near multiple major mosques, but I barely heard the early morning call to prayer with my doors closed-There are many great restaurants located within a half-mile of the hotelOther Notes: -I visited during the off-season, so I got an amazing price on this room–this seems like a typical practice by many big hotels during the winter months-The IST airport is far away from the city center, so make sure you leave at least an hour to get to the airport, and consider asking the front desk to get you a taxi if you are leaving super early; otherwise, Uber Taxi worked very well for me -Enjoy the sunset views from the balcony and the nearby pier Hotel Management, Revenue Management at GLK PREMIER Sea Mansion Suites & Spa - Special Class, responded to this review Dear Valued Guest;We would like to thank you for staying with us during your recent visit and for taking the time to send us your valuable comments.
