    Seeing harassment and assault from reception

    Seeing verbal abuse and assault by reception. My experience with this old rusty and nasty and dirty place which charge ppl like four star hotel but you see disgusting things in bathrooms and rooms is totally different from what you ever heard. First day when I arrived they gave a twins bed room extremely small with having window to wall something exactly opposite of what I chose and paid for. My husband and I came to Turkey to travel to Iran to see my family in war condition, but this hotel and their staff at reception made me traumatize from the moment I arrived. My complaint about wrong room had no response but insult and rather than apology they said we don’t have other room. After long discussion and their attack finally they agreed to change the room by tomorrow morning at 9am. Morning time in second day again they said we dont have room ready but it ll be ready maximum by 1 pm. They forced us to take our stuff in lobby till they give other room. Other room again at 2 pm was not ready and when I said why should I pay for full day when you keep me on street and my stuff in lobby the reception said infront of other guests I don’t give your answer because you don’t talk nice. Then after giving me silence treatment for about half an hour and refusing giving me place to stay while they had my money, one of stuff came and said your room is ready and I was near elevator to go to the room I said but I get my money refund because day s over and reception yelled at me and said shutzzzy up and when I said what did you say he said dirty woman to me. I am gonna attached picture of the condition of the hotel and I want Expedia and my insurance help me to get refund. *just avoid this place* later staff came to me and ask to write a review to thank them for supporting them can you believe it? He gave his name and asked me to mention in my review that how much he was good🙄.

    I do not suggest at all. I was staying in the hotel. After 3rd night there was one more night to stay. Even though my reservation was confirmed, they sold it other tourist for higher price and I had to leave the room in 5 minutes. Terrible experience.     I stayed at this hotel on a trip with my school from the 11th to the 15th of March. The hotel was pretty good! The room was spacious, really clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also really clean. The location is perfect. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The only downsides were that most of the staff didn't speak English, which made communication really hard (no offense to them) and that the TV wasn't working even after I requested the remote control. Overall, it's a great hotel in a great city and country, and I would still definitely recommend it.     Worst Hotel in Istanbul

    Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in!! I’ve been in some countries and my horrible experience at the Golden Age Taksim is unforgettable. This isn’t a 4 star hotel, it doesn’t even deserve one star! The very first day I got locked in the bathroom thanks to the rusted locks they didn’t bother to change! If my sister wasn’t in the room at the same time I could have suffocated and died! When she finally got the reception, they sent someone who just got me out but didn’t fix it and yet the lady at the reception said there was no problem. I wonder how she could say that when I got stuck! Imagine if someone else stay there after I leave and same thing repeats! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL. And breakfast is same thing every single day, they do not even bother about kids’ diet and people who don’t eat spicy, they just put red chilli in everything. And the cups are NEVER cleaned! I had to call the restaurant every single day to get clean cups. Once I even called 3 times in one day only then did they bother to send someone. This hotel caused my Istanbul trip to be a nightmare. Whoever decides to stay there is just crazy I should say. To note that I stayed there during the first week of December 2025, so this issue is recent. Another problem that happened there was that my mom slipped at breakfast one day when someone spilled some food. Management didn’t find it necessary to clean it immediately. Now we’re in January 2026 and my mom still has to go for hospital treatments because of the pain she’s getting from that day. Imagine you save your money to travel and end up in that kind of a hotel. I wonder why our agency booked this trashy hotel for us.     Great Location but Room Service Needs Improvement

    The room service is not good. During my entire stay of 8 days, the housekeeping only made the bed and arranged it, but no surface cleaning was done at all. In addition, bath towels were not provided according to the number of guests unless you specifically asked for them.On the positive side, the reception staff are responsive, understanding, and reactive, which was appreciated.The breakfast has limited variety, but it is acceptable.The location is great, which is one of the hotel’s strongest points.
