    5 star hotel but actually looks like 3 stars. Outdated rooms, a ventilation system in the bathroom that cannot be stopped, windows that do not close very well. very disappointed!     Poor service for a 5-star hotel

    After a long day of traveling, I asked the front desk for toothpaste and was told to change my room if I wanted one — incredibly rude and unhelpful. The “king” bed is tiny, barely fits one person. Definitely not the standard of a 5-star hotel. Very disappointing experience.     Not a luxury hotel

    This is listed as a 5 star hotel, but it definitely does not live up to the standard of one, not even close. I wonder if any of the 5 star reviews are fake. When we arrived around 6pm, the room was not ready for us. Also, as you enter the hotel, they have several signs indicating that they don't allow any outside food or drinks inside their hotel, which is pretty ridiculous considering you're traveling and might want to have something that doesn't come from them. The room itself looked like it needed a lot of maintenance. The walls were dirty, the shower corners were dirty, the handle to the bathroom was loose and coming apart, the TV stand had some weird separation, the door to the dresser housing the mini fridge was not aligned properly, and the water did not drain properly in the shower which caused leaking all over the bathroom floor. The AC was OK, it would turn off frequently. The included breakfast buffet was tasty. The servers were friendly. The menu for meals you could purchase was OK. The chicken schnitzel I ordered looked like it was still raw in some parts. We were originally scheduled to stay at a different hotel and got placed here instead because of its " 5 star rating", but I hope no one else gets fooled by this false claim.     Throughout our journey to Istanbul, we and my family were greatly impressed by Golden Tulip Hotel. It received a five-start rating from us because of their warm reception from the very first moment we stepped into the hotel.Here, I would like to praise Ms. Nilay. Absolutely stunning. We were grateful for all her efforts throughout our stay. Ms. Nilay proactive communication via WhatsApp ensured she wasn’t off the loop and everyone felt well connected. What a great shift to our experience that was!Breakfast as well as the rest of the meals was simply unforgettable Golden Tulip serves a wholesome breakfast with a variety for people with different preferences which energizes them for full day of exploring. Furthermore, almost all of the rooms that we rented were big enough to allow for members of our family to move about freely.Golden Tulip Hotel’s service was on another level. A tentatively positive and fast service was an attitude that every single member of the frontline offered, we came up close with, this was clear all throughout the hotel.     I’d stay somewhere else if you can

    Booked a last minute package so hotel choices were limited. Was looking forward to this one with 5 stars, didn’t think the bad reviews could be that spot on. They are - this place is tired, no level of service, over priced and definitely not 5 star (should be 3 at best). Room in poor condition - damaged wardrobe door, broken hanging rail, carpets feel dirty but may just be old and worn, chipped sink. Put up with this initially. Breakfast has poor selection. Had to change room on third night due to cigarette smoke seeping in. Called reception. No one came up. I heard guest relations at breakfast tell another guest that even though their room was non smoking they could smoke if they opened the window. Broken hanging rail not fixed after letting reception know and them promising to fix it. After breakfast, spoke to guest relations. Changed room - supposed to move over packed luggage during day. Left important documents for them to put in a safe. Returned at 7.30pm. No new room allocated and things not moved; couldn’t find my documents initially - not out in a safe. Finally put in a new room, moved my things over dealing with child, had help of one porter. In the new room - broken had hand soap dispenser, telephone broken so couldn’t call down to reception (god knows what you’re supposed to do in an emergency), half used conditioner. When I went down to reception, no word of apology - they sent house keeping up with a bottle of shampoo to replace hand soap. Housekeeping very put out.Anything but a 5⭐️ experience!! Wouldn’t stay here again. Not worth the money. Needs some money investing in training and renovations.
