Location

Located on the historical peninsula of Istanbul, the hotel is positioned opposite the Aksaray tram stop. The major sight-seeing attractions of Sultanahmet are roughly 30 minutes’ walk away and local points of interest, such as shops and restaurants can be found within close proximity of the hotel. Atatürk Airport is approximately 16 km away and Sabiha Gökcen Airport is roughly 50 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 5 suites and 46 double rooms, which are located on 8 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing.     My colleague and I were in Istanbul in this beautiful hotel in the end of April, which hotel is very close to bus and metro station, in the very Center of the city, which is more than good for reaching any destination and goal. We owe special thanks to manager team and especially to Wassila and Sadrik, who have shown great manners, helpfulness, kindness and understanding for all our need, which have outgrown our expectations. Rooms are with great view, more than clean, perfectly managed everyday. Despite the fact that I considered myself to be a demanding guest, we have been more than satisfied with this hotel and its staff, and would recommend it to everyone for the perfect experience in Istanbul.

    We stayed at Grand Durmaz Hotel for 2 nights October 22-24, 2025. The reception staff Mrs. Leila, Mrs. Vesila, Mr. Necdet, Mr. Serkan and Mr. Vihat were very helpful and friendly and did their best to make our stay comfortable. The standard rooms are of a reasonable size and the best ones are those overlooking the main street and seeing the beautiful historical mosque. The breakfast service is excellent and the buffet staff Mrs. Saliha, Mrs. Merve and Mr. Osman are more than wonderful. Thank you all. The location is excellent on two main streets, one is a highway that leads to Taksim and the other has the metro to Sultanahmet. All shops, restaurants, cafes and other services are close by for walking and shopping. It is considered one of the most convenient locations on the European side of Istanbul.

    Decent hotel in a good location with Team lines and bus lines in close proximity. Room was good but a little noise from the street that backed on to the hotel. Breakfast was fine. Overall a good experience

    Reception guys were nice, breakfast ok and rooms small, but clean.My biggest complaint goes to older bold guy in wellness. I asked for woman for massage, but he appeared and made the whole experience unpleasant and unprofessional. I felt like he just grabbed the opportunity to touch women and trying to get some. Big red flag for ladies!

    Such a big joke in a fabulous location. Reception desk is non responsive. Absolutely no customer support. Intercom was not working in my room but they cudn't rectify it till I check'd out. Reported faulty AC to a housekeeping staff but he fled immediately. Lock in washroom door was faulty. It cannot be locked. Positives 1. Good Location for shopping and evening walk. 2. Nice spread for breakfast.3. There is a spa centre attached to this property. This helps after a long travel.Negatives1. Narrow road. Most of the pickup and drop vehicles wont come infront of this property. They all will stop at the nearest signal jn or in walkable distance. For check-in and out, we had to walk a bit carrying the luggages. 2.Cramped bath space.3.No good restaurants nearby. I wudn't visit this place again or refer to anyone for sure.
