    Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by a welcome drink (tea/coffee) at check-in, and even more by a “local mascot” – a parrot from the restaurant that casually walked over to us. A very charming and memorable touch. The reception staff were among the best we’ve experienced in Istanbul – friendly, helpful, and quick to resolve anything.We were initially given a room on a lower floor, but due to heating issues (the air conditioning didn’t work properly), it was quite cold. After informing the staff, we were promptly moved to a higher floor where everything worked perfectly. Overall room comfort was good – clean, comfortable beds, and no issues with water pressure or temperature.The location is a big advantage – the hotel is close to Yenikapı and also within easy reach of Sirkeci, which we consider two of the best areas to stay in Istanbul thanks to excellent transport connections (metro, Marmaray, trams). There is also a minimarket right next to the hotel, which is very convenient.In the mornings, we could hear the call to prayer from a nearby mosque, which is part of the local atmosphere. On the positive side, the curtains block sunlight very effectively, so you can still sleep comfortably without being disturbed by daylight.Breakfast was good, with a decent selection and regularly replenished. The only downside was that the breakfast area was quite cold.Overall, very good value for money. If the price is right again, we would be happy to return.

    I had a pleasant stay at Grand Hilarium Hotel in Istanbul. The hotel is in a convenient location, making it easy to explore the city and nearby attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast had a good variety and was a great way to start the day. Overall, it was a comfortable stay

    The hotel and rooms were excellent but the bar and restaurant staff while being polite were inexperienced and poorly trained. The breakfast buffet was excellent but the restaurant service in the evening was terrible. The standard of food was equivalent to a cheap takeaway cafe. The staff simply did not understand what the meals consisted of. While the presentation of the hotel suggests 5 star, the reality is only 2-3 star.

    Where to start, it’s a long story. International city and staff doesn’t speak English at all, I mean even receptionist doesn’t understand simple words. Street vendors have better English than them, at 20 Degrees they have turned heating on. Rooms are boiling hot 🥵. Can not even breathe in room rather than sleep. Room condition is worse, breakfast terrible choices. No body understands a single word you saying. Worse Place to stay in such a beautiful city.

    This is the worst hotel you can stay in. Staff were rude and totally unfriendly, the breakfast is non-existent, one day there were no plates and cups and the waiters just shrugged their shoulders, the indoor pool was freezing, the staff in the pool area complained of children making noise as there were massages taking place in other rooms, whilst the staff were laughing and on the phones talking loudly. there was smoke permeating through the rooms, the baclony, as advertised didn't exist. the disabled chair at the entrance was not working so we had to carry our disabled daughter up and down the stairs, the lifts were not level with the main floors when getting in/out, the bathrooms were mouldy, the rooms were very dark, stay away from this s*~t hotel.
