    Huge Airport but not very transit passenger friendly

    This airport claims to the worlds largest with 6 runways and projected passenger volume at 200 million/ year by 2028. Opened in April 2019 it replaces the Ataturk Airport. With 6 separate wings ( A,B,C,D,E and F) there are a lot of gates and a very large shopping mall in the center. It took us almost 30 minute of taxiing after we landed to get to our gate and another 45 minutes to transit from F gate to A11. It took another 20 minutes of taxiing before we were ready for take off. This is not for seniors or disabled . Although they do have motorized wheelchairs that could cut the time to transit. I prefer Changi in Singapore.

    We stayed here the end of March so we could be close to the airport. We had a very early morning departure. Our room was extremely small. The bed was in so tight the bottom sheet couldn’t be tucked in. Every time you moved the sheet pulled out. The faucet in the bathroom sink nearly fell off. The shower head sprayed water all over the towels and the floor. The room was noisy. The carpet in the hallway was well worn. I think since this is near the old airport it should be converted to apartments. Their ad said shuttle which turned out to be they would order a cab for you.

    We stayed for a night. The reason we choose this hotel was the location ( close to the airport). When we arrived at 02.00AM the receptionist was not friendly and kind. The elevator was not working. We carried our luggages to the second floor. The room was not clean and smell very bad. And the noise from outside was terrible. Dont ever never choose this hotel.

    I hate to say this because the guy at the front desk was very kind, attentive and seemed to be hard working, but.... Because of other reviewers I thought this would be fine for just a quick stay during a long layover. I'd disagree. The room was so smelly, the curtains were barely hanging, the mattress was stained, the TV was broken, the window has been open with no screen so there was a mosquito in my room. At first I couldn't access my air conditioner because there was no remote in the room, though this was resolved, thankfully. Maybe for others this would still be an okay option, but I wish I would have paid a bit more and stayed somewhere else. It was cheap! That's for sure.
