    Near the Sea of Marmara

    The hotel is at one of the quiet calm and near the Sea of Marmara - Yenikapı. It's a few minutes walking to the metro. Near the hotel is a restaurant which offers delicious and not very expencive local food. The rooms were clean and the service was polite. Provide an option of money exchange to their own turkish currency.

    We stayed at Grand Unal Hotel last year in April. I booked well in advance for the room and paid up front. I constantly got messages if i was still coming. When i eventually got to the hotel and got my room. I never got the room promised. The room condition and the bed was terrible. The breakfast on the top floor was very nice and there was a nice view. The assistance during breakfast was also good especially from a short light of complexion man in formal clothing i think his name was Muhammad. Location is great.

    The hotel is conveniently located, about a 30-minute walk from the Fatih area. The rooms are spacious and clean, exactly as shown in the online photos. However, the housekeeping staff should be more mindful of guests resting in the morning and ensure a quiet environment. Loud shouting between rooms is very disruptive and can lead to negative reviews for the hotel.There is also room for improvement in the bathroom design. A great detail is that we were able to park the car on the street in front of the hotel. You just need to be lucky to find a spot initially, then leave the key at the reception, and if necessary, they will move the car for you.Enjoy!

    I definitely WOULDN’T recommend staying at this hotel. My room REEKED of cigarettes, the soap dish was apparently used as an ashtray (as shown on the photo), you are given 2 glasses, but no drinks - not even complementary bottles of water! Wifi is super slow, and there’s almost no connection to it after 9pm. Atmosphere is unwelcoming, towels were dirty, sheets were in questionable condition (as shown on the photo). Honestly, all the negative feedback I have read from here happened to be true. I am questioning whether the positive comments have been paid for. Breakfast is nothing special. The only pro is that it’s close to a tube/tram station (walk distance) and that there are a lot of restaurants nearby. I guess for a short stay is fine. But if I were you - I would book somewhere else.
