  No Compassion, No Flexibility – Avoid at All Costs

  I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Black Tulip Hotel.We had a booking for my mother and two other pensioners, and due to serious safety concerns during the regional conflict, they could not take the risk of travelling. This was not a casual cancellation—it was a matter of safety for elderly people.Despite explaining the situation clearly and repeatedly, the hotel refused to offer any flexibility. No date change, no refund, no compassion. Just rigid, scripted responses.What makes this worse is that the hotel hides behind “policy” without any consideration for real-life emergencies. Even though cancellation policies can vary depending on booking type, basic human decency should come first—especially when dealing with vulnerable, elderly travellers.It is unacceptable that a business in the hospitality industry shows zero empathy in circumstances like this. Hospitality should mean understanding, not just enforcing rules when it benefits you financially.We were left with a complete financial loss and a very bitter experience. I would strongly caution others—especially families and older travellers—that if anything unexpected happens, you may receive no support at all.!!!!Very disappointing and frankly upsetting. I would not recommend this hotel based on how they treat customers when it truly matters

  Aslan helped us without hesitation

  We were supposed to stay in a different hotel a block away from the Spice Bazaar expecting that since the place is expensive, we would have all the bells and whistles but lo and behold when we checked-in at 2 PM and we were brought to the room, we were offered an electric fan for us to use during our stay. We thought it was a joke but they were dead-serious. I told the manager that their website says they have A/C as a basic amenity. Not to mention that we arrived at 8:30AM, was not offered a welcome drink, and I had to ask where we can wait otherwise they just ignored us after swiping our credit card. The staff told my husband we were the 3rd couple who checked-out minutes after checking-in that week.I called the Hotel Black Tulip since we stayed there a year ago, Aslan immediately and willingly helped us. Within minutes after we checked-out from the other hotel, Aslan and Enver welcomed us and made sure we have eveything we needed. There was a big difference in customer service b/w hotels. Aslan, Enver and the other staff would always offer us something to drink each time they see us or other guests. Enver made wonderful cups of turkish coffee! The entire staff convene a very professional, courteous and friendly service, they always acknowledge your presence. Until our check-out, they sought to it that we had a great trip.Black Tulip hotel have A/C even during colder months and the best 10 days ever! We highly recommend them!

  Exceptional Service, great location

  4-night stay. Location is extremely central, however access on arrival and departure is a bit challenging as the taxis cannot drop you at the entrance, which is on the tramlines, however the staff were readily available to assist with hauling of luggage in and out. walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Arasta Bazaar, Hafiz Mustafa. Coffee offered on arrival which was a lovely gesture. Having the ATM and forex exchange next to the hotel was a blessing. Lovely Turkish Delight store (Hafiz Omar) 3 shops down with the tastiest delights. Asalan, Furkaan and young blond gentleman were amazing at the reception. They even organized coffee and cookies for us one evening when we were in need of extra coffee. They also helped me with my esim issues and walked me to a cell shop to get assistance. Rooms were small but clean. Our shower was extremely small and had we been larger people, it would have been an issue, but we got by. Breakfast offering and staff was wonderful. transfer arranged from the hotel to the airport was great as well.

  Everything about our experience at the Black Tulip exceeded our expectations! The location could not have been more perfect for seeing the musts of Istanbul, and the price was reasonable for the value. The breakfast was excellent, and varied each day, Our room was immaculate and cleaned every day. The staff were exceptional, providing service well beyond what we expected, from meeting us in our taxi a block away from the hotel due to traffic issues, to solving our event booking problems and even internet glitches with our eSIM. It felt like we were staying with friends!

  Great hospitality, very helpful staff, made me want to move to Turkey! Honestly the staff couldn't do enough for me and my two chums. They were very knowledgeable, well presented and have a great sense of humour! Best trip in years! Beds were comfortable TV has only one English station, food at breakfast was lovely and plentiful.
