    Disastrous

    rating08 Oct 2025

The room we booked at the Klas Hotel Istanbul was supposed to be a standard room in a 4 star hotel... There is nothing of 4 stars in this hotel... The room we were first given, was on the first floor and was so small, that there was not even enough space on each side of the bed, to stand up properly... The air-conditioning unit is mounted so low, that it blows directly on the bed and I tried all possible settings... I was up all night turning it on and of, because if I turned it off, it was suffocating and hot in the room and when left on, it was blowing directly in my head... There was no outside window we could open to get fresh air - it states, that it is a garden view room, but there is no garden in this hotel, just the atrium in the middle of the hotel - so when we looked outside, we saw hotel corridors and the roof of the atrium is painted like clouds... We had the drapes drawn all the time, otherwise people were looking inside our room... We didn't see daylight at all - It was like it was dark outside 24hrs a day... There was a connecting door to another room and we could hear people moving around, laughing, coughing, snorring, etc... The bathroom door got stuck on the threshold and could hardly be opened or closed and that always with a loud squeak... The bathroom was so small, that I was able reach with my hands from one end to the other... The shower was maybe 60cm wide, the sink so small, there was almost no space to put anything on it, all yellowed and poorly made with mould in the corners, the whole bathroom/room was shabby, moldy and in decay... We went to the front desk, they said they will give us another room the next day, since they were fully booked... The next day, they gave us the same excuse... Only after 3 nights they finally gave us another room, which was bigger and it had outside windows... But this room was also nowhere near a 4 star hotel... It was also on the first floor, extremely noisy from the street... The furniture old and used, the balcony railing on our "french balcony" was so old and weathered it was falling to pieces and splinters... This bathroom was a little bigger but in the same condition as the other one, only 2 meager lightbulbs, so I had to use my phone flashlight to see myself in the mirror... Only the mattresses were ok... The restaurant was in the basement, again no windows, no fresh air and so stuffed and you could hardly move between other guests and tables...The food offer was less then mediocre, awful coffee, stale, old bread and pastry, only white bread loafs were fresh... you had to pay additionally if you wanted an omelette or even fresh orange juice... They only offered apples, watermelon and tangerines on the fruit bar... Whole week the same food... Butter, marmelade and honey, sausage... There was soup, fries, chicken nuggets, some sausage in tomato sauce, spaghetti in cheese sauce - Foods you don't eat for breakfast, normally...There were some pickled vegetables, lettuce, only hard-boiled eggs, cheese... I ate toasted bread with butter and jam all week... Nothing comes even close to the description or pictures shown on theirs or any of the booking sites I checked and doesn't befit even some low budget hotel... Everything in the hotel is falling apart, deteriorated... The "pool and spa" area that they advertise, consist of a maybe 4x3m pool, a dirty "whirlpool", both with freezing cold water (I can't even imagine how you can swim in the summer, when its hot and all the guests want to use it... There is one sauna (maybe for 8-10 people), the "spa area" only has a few wooden benches to sit on... No loungers or even chairs to cool down or relax properly... We stayed at 2 star hotels that were better than the Klas Hotel Istanbul

Great stay ,got a free room upgrade by ozgur who was great throughout our 8 days ,pool area could do with a make over and the second lift was out of order throughout the whole stay which at breakfast time was very frustrating as it never got to the 5th floor, but overall a great stay

Paying for 4 star and getting 2

    rating22 Sept 2025

How on earth can this place have 4 stars it's so so dirty At a glance you might think reception area was OK but boy the dirt there's a unit aircon I think it's full with dirt under it and all down the front I'm sure if you ran a cloth across the top the dust would blind you Along with the glass on the coffee tables been dirty there's so much dirt between the class and wood All along the skirting is filthy And it's nothing until you go upstairs the carpet is stained and disgusting walls need paint Our room came with a clean bed toilet and sink We received chrips and dust beside the bed complementary of the hotel. The TV screen and mirror smug marks the locker stained and dirty I ran my finger across the top of the bed and whoo the dirt also wiped the inside of the window it came off as black as the floor and believe me the floors were black we were sticking to them our socks won't see white again. Apart from the dirt the hotel is not at all customer focused one night I got parted from my friend it was dark and we had no Internet I found my way back and asked if the receptionist would ring my friend just to see where she was and I could try get back to her The refused leaving someone scared in a strange country in the dark not nice. Drinks are served beside the pool so no problem with drink in the area but I bought up a cup of tea he threw it away rather than allow me to drink it. The hotel are advising an offer if you stay more than 6 nights you received a taxi to the airport and some other stuff I asked about the taxi was told it only applies if you book through them that's what it should say then We stayed for 10 nights only 1 tiny hole in the wall ment to be a wardrobe not sure how 1 person could put clothes let alone 2 only 1 bedside table no natural light in the room we couldn't tell if the sun was shining or if it was snowing outside. Your paying for 4 star and getting 2. On the plus side the showers were nice and hot and the 2 young bell boys were lovely. I won't say anything bad about the food because I saw plenty of people filling up the plates so they liked it for us we eat the melon and if we wanted omelette or orange juice they were 4 euros each 😜

    Nice stay at convenient spot

Had free upgrade to huge room. Ozgur on reception and the staff were super helpful. Bed was massive and comfy. Breakfast was limited. Lifts are tiny. Alcohol is expensive. Location is good and walkable to the main attractions in 15 to 20 mins or public transport nearby.
