    The Lemon Residence in Istanbul

    This hotel was very clean, well situated and the staff could speak English. Don't be put off by the surrounding views. This is Istanbul on the European side. Our room was spacious with a kitchenette complete with a table and chairs. There is a snack bar next door that is cheap to eat in. The locals use it and it is clean. The main street around the corner is also full of nice cafes that are affordable. The cakes and Turkish Delight are worth a try. The area is a red light district but don't be put off. We were given a key to get into the hotel if we were late getting back. For security reasons the hotel is locked at 11 o'clock. Our room had a free safety deposit box. There is a sister hotel around the corner that is part of The Lemon Residence. We would book this hotel again.

    Nice and problematic a bit!

    First of all: location and price were fine, also the fact that I arrived at 9 morning, normal check in was at 2 pm but they let me in the room earlier.What I did not like: the bathroom was old, as you see on the photos, although the room itself was clean and cozy. I had all needed bathroom stuff and cleaning service worked properly. Also, I booked another one with kitchen, the reception guy told me that its another room but better, but was not at all!And, when my friend visited me for 30 minutes, before we go to the bars, reception asked 1000 questions, ID card and everything, was too boring and it was day time. So if you take single room and think that can invite friends - its not the best place...

    Very helpful and professional Management. Location is good; proximity to explore Taksim, Itsiklal street and surrounds as well as, getting to Bosphorus Tours.I booked Lemon Residence, however was transferred to a sister lodge upon arrival which I was disappointed about as I would have preferred bright, light rooms advertised as opposed to basement and ground floor rooms with no natural light.Good value for money.

    I stayed at lemon residence in October 2018. It a small hotel without breakfast but it’s close to Taksim Square(around 10-15 minutes walk) there are restaurants and supermarkets and on the main the road there’s a cafe you can have breakfast for 15-20 Lira.The neighborhood is quiet and it’s away from the noise of city centre and night life.

    We recently stayed in The Lemon Residence and it certainly ticked all our boxes. We were 3 women staying for 1 night in one of the self-catering apartments, the location was key for us and I must say the services and welcome we received was fantastic. Hasan was extremely helpful and kind enough to book a wonderful private transfer for us to the airport on our departure day at a very reasonable rate. Mesud the night clerk could not have done any more, his assistance was gratefully appreciated and he certainly gave the full service and is a great assett to the hotel. I am happy to recommend the Lemon Resdence and will definately book it again the next time I am in Istanbul. Thank you Gwen Browne
