    Not A Good Stay

    rating27 Mar 2026

My husband and I came up from Cincinnati to scout fishing spots and camping in the area on March 21, 2026. I didn't read the reviews (shame on me) but I knew there were slim choices in Hillsboro, and being a Wyndham member we chose this hotel for an overnight stay. We booked a king deluxe suite with a Jacuzzi tub. Total for room was to be $163 which I thought was high, but we really wanted the hot tub for health reasons, so we booked it. We arrived shortly after the 2pm check-in time. No one at the desk but a sign in a stand telling you to call a number, which you can hear ringing right back to the front desk. No one is there to answer. So we tried a few times and after about 20 minutes my husband found a note laying flat on the desk with another number. We called it and were checked in about 10 minutes later. The outside door didn't lock and there is a printed sign stating that smoking is not permitted in the hallways. Of course we are met with a smoke smell as we enter the room. The bathroom has no power and one of the bedside tables is off the wall laying there. My side of the bed, no place for my glasses or phone, afraid to use the light. I called the front desk, she came down, of course there were no other Jacuzzi rooms available so she flipped the breaker (no additional problems) and offered a 10% discount. Then the TV wasn't working. It looks like they are depending on the "$80 Walmart Roku TV" to provide channels instead of having actual cable. I have an "$80 Walmart Roku TV" and know how to work it. After a few minutes and a phone call she was able to fix it. It never connected Netflix or anything, only the Live TV. Two remotes, no instructions-very confusing for their guests! This was all within a short time of our arrival, and we were thinking of leaving. She offered to reduce the rate to $125. Fine. Other items that I did not call to their attention: The Jacuzzi was clean but it was so loud, I felt bad for the neighbors having to listen to it. Thought about getting in the regular tub, but it was filthy with a number of unknown hairs and grime. You would think they would give extra towels for the hot tub, but nope. Later I went to get some lotion-empty. Which prompted me to check the shower-shampoo, but no conditioner. The bed was clean and comfortable, but the rest of the room felt dirty with smeared mirrors, stained furniture, crumbs on carpet. Nothing too horrible, but still not clean. The renovations seem slapped together and cheap, not square or level with glues and caulk left behind. I didn't go down, but my husband did bring me a cup of tea and a chocolate hostess cupcake from the breakfast. It made us laugh. The last hit came on the way out when we wanted just a small amount of ice for our six-pack sized cooler. If you read past reviews, looks like the ice machine has been out of order for a couple of years. Days Inn listed website amenities that were missing: alarm clock, complete bathroom amenities, CABLE TV, coffee maker and set up. It just feels like they do not care about the little things that make a place so much more than just a bed. We won't be back, such a shame.

    Mold & Mildew Safety Concern

    rating20 Jul 2025

The room smelled like mold and mildew and the hotel staff said there were no rooms to switch to and still hasn't reimbursed our stay even though we had to leave due to the risk of health issues presented by the health hazard (allergy to mold & mildew and young infant).

Not the best place to stay but it’s close to where I need to be

    rating19 Jul 2025

The ice machine is still not working. There is 1 handicap spot at the front door. The breakfast offering is really bad: cereal, 2 flavors of Activia yogurt, waffles you can make, toast, fake butter, fake syrup. Weak coffee and cheap creamer. They close it,up promptly at 9 a.m. so don’t come at 9:01 looking for some food. The younger Front desk clerk is not friendly at all and is sort of creepy. There seems to be homeless people hanging around at night. There rooms aren’t bad but the motel smells funny, like it could use a good deep cleaning.

Very nice. Much better then expected. Will stay again. Rented 2 rooms. We had the room with 2 beds and sofa. It was very spacious and set up with a little kitchenette. Amazing location. We were a little late for breakfast but the attendant let us grab some items.

    Horrific customer service

    rating05 Sept 2024

I travel for work and work nights. I stayed at this hotel three separate weekends. The first weekend was OK nothing to write home about. They are doing renovations but didn’t work the weekend. For the most part everything went fine. The second weekend my rate was raised for no reason. I was put in a different room and the renovations did take place on the weekend. It was very hard to sleep with people talking and working directly outside my door. (The hotel knew I slept during the day. They did not care.). The third and final weekend I was placed back in the loud room. I complained and was told that was the only room available. On the second night of my stay, I got up for work and went to take a shower. There was NO hot water. I had to take a cold shower. I called the front desk and was told they would look into it. I went to the reception in the morning when I returned from work to get compensation for having to take a cold shower. I was told by the manager “that I pay to sleep here, the rest of the amenities are free”. Then she dismissed me without compensation. Monday morning when I returned from work she was outside my door working on the renovations. I told them I would leave at checkout. I went to my room, packed and tried to nap. The door was knocked on every hour with the manager yelling “checkout at 11 o’clock”. Finally at 11 I answered the door. Told her I pay to sleep here and you didn’t let me so I will leave when I want. I closed the door and went back in the room for a few more minutes. She was standing at the door in the same spot where I opened it to leave. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel.
