  DO NOT GO HERE - highly discouraged!!

  Having travelled a lot, including third world countries in Asia, this was the most unpleasant holiday accommodation I have ever experienced. The room was absolutely disgusting: - filthy/stained and smelly bedsheets with bits of dirt in the bed as well, I don't even wanted to know what that was.- black mold and stains on the bedroom ceiling and in the bathroom- bathroom and room size very small- bathroom glass panel door was jammed and falling over when trying to slide close- we could smell cigaret smoke all day, which we think is because the owner who was smoking on the terrace repeated times per day- the breakfast buffet was very bad quality (hardly any choice and the options that were there were not edible) hard dry bread, very pink and odd looking meat. we looked at the food and immediately decided to leave and eat elsewhere even though we'd paid for breakfast here at Meddusa.- the last point but not least: the owner or person in charge is very rude and arrogant. I had caught a cold in the hot air balloons in Cappadocia so asked this person if he had any paracetamol or something alike to reduce my fever and he abruptly said no. Usually hotels have first aid kits and basic medicines but that's understandable if they don't have it, it could have been said in a much more human and pleasant way. After that I asked him if there was any shop where I could get something from but he just ignored me. I wasn't feeling well and plus the unhygienic of the room really upset me to a point I just broke down and wanted to go home (which has never happened before). This is just an instance to give as an example but he was rude and arrogant in many more interactions which made us feel really unwelcome. The hotel made my overall experience of Istanbul very unpleasant. I was taken aback as we'd been to Cappadocia prior to coming to Istanbul. We loved Cappadocia, the people, hospitality and quality - everything was much better there. Accommodation can really make or break your trip, so it's not worth spending less money and making your overall experience not something you look back at positively. I wish I had done more research and booked a better hotel.

  Decent rate, good enough for sleep and shower

  It is tiny, no doubt. You won't get fancy reception or sprawling buffet. But I liked that it was smack in the center of many places like the mosques, provisions shop, food centres and I could easily walk to many of the places for sightseeing. The Sultanahmet Fish House is just opposite bur sadly I didn't get to eat it. Also I knew I was staying there for clean bed and shower and would spend most of my time outside. They cleaned daily, there was some toiletries, they booked a taxi for me, took care of my luggage before checkout as I still had some time before my flight. People weren't unctuous. Internet wasn't too good but I had my tourist pack. If you're on budget, this place is good otherwise there are numerous other hotels around it anyway.

  if you need cheep hotel in the heart of Istanbul this be ok. my room was not very good and very small. bathroom was terrible. i didnt used . Breakfast with Bosphore sea view, kind service. the tea was excellent.

  Rude staff, moldy rooms, terrible experience

  The staff is awful (rude and unorganized). No customer service skills. They tried to charge me extra for the included breakfast. I booked a non-smoking room, but they put me in a room that reeked of smoke so much that I couldn't breathe, then when I asked to move, put me in a room with no working AC and told me that was my only option. I chose the no AC room over the smoke room, then went to put some food in the mini fridge and it is rotten and covered in mold. The breakfast food smells/tastes spoiled. The WiFi is unreliable. The terrace view does not make up for how dirty and unkept this hotel is. Would not recommend.

  Amazing Place Meddusa Hotel

  This place is situated heart of Istanbul. Its almost near to Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia . Rooms are clean. Wifi is working good. There is a beautiful panorama around Istanbul and sea. The meals are so tasty. Thanks for all collectives which is working there.
