    Stylish Design, Disappointing Cleanliness and Service

    The hotel had very good facilities and a stylish design, but unfortunately it was extremely dirty and disorganized.The gym felt more like a storage room than a fitness space. It was filled with used disposable cups and broken resistance bands scattered everywhere. During our entire 10-day stay, the gym was never cleaned or organized.The swimming pool was also very dirty. There was always standing water on the floor of the shower cabins. Even for towels, you had to request them from reception every time, as there was no designated area to pick up clean towels.We had requested a wake-up call for our airport transfer, but no call was made. If we hadn’t woken up on our own, we would have missed our flight.The seating area behind the bar in the non-smoking section of the lobby smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. People were smoking in an enclosed space behind it, making the area unusable.The hotel entrance was always crowded with staff, but they neither greeted guests nor even made eye contact. They felt more like security guards than welcoming hotel staff.The double bed was extremely small. I have never experienced such a small bed in another hotel, and this was far below my expectations for a 5-star hotel with such a stylish design.On a positive note, the housekeeping lady was very polite and attentive, and provided excellent service.

    A great choice for a quick stay before boarding our cruise. Check in was quick and friendly and we were shown to our rooms on the 9th floor. We had one double and one family room, both were well appointed with great bathrooms. One room did smell of smoke though. Our booking did not include breakfast and this was comped at check in which was a nice touch. Breakfast was great with a huge selection and high quality.

    Melas hotel was our stay cation from 11th to 18th June during our Turkish holidays. This marvellous hotel exceeded our expectations in each aspect of hospitality. As soon we arrived , Ms Asiye greeted and welcomed with her super friendly gesture and nice smile , she explained us everything in very lucid manner , provided us early check in , did all formalities within no time , gave us complementary breakfast for 3 persons on that particular day as it was early check in & was not included of our package , offered complementary extra bedding without any cost for our 9 years old daughter . We are very thankful to her . Room was cosy , having all necessary amenities and housekeeping as well as in room service was up to the marks . Worth mentioning our Angel during stay , Ms Asu , who is reception supervisor, gave expectional help for our bhosphorus dinner cruise , day cruise as well as general guidance to how to explore wonders of Istanbul. She helped us in her maximum capacity and taken care of us like family . We will always be indebted to her . Worth mentioning Mr Eyattulah at front door service, Mr Mevlut at reception for his great help , contagious smile , charming personality and sober manners . Ms Nusrat who is manger at breakfast in melas restaurant, and Ms Buse a wonderful human being And waitress at restaurant, did great help every morning , for 8 consecutive days . Staff at melas are their strength and they exceeded our expectations. Cleanliness , location were great , connectivity to all places in Istanbul from this hotel is 24 hours and easily accessible. Nearby neighbourhood is also very nice . My wife took hair dressing services from Mr Ahmed and Ms Kubra at melas spa and wellness and she appreciated duo in high regards . Very professional and kind . Mr Ali did daily cleaning of our room , he was very kind , courteous and I think Gem of their housekeeping department. Overall this hotel is the best place to stay in Istanbul and yes Melas , we are coming back to meet you , greet you very soon . Highly recommended .     Very good business hotelin the Gayrettepe district

    This is a modern, new hotel in the Gayrettepe district of Istanbul (on the European side). Staff is very helpful, polite and effective. Check-in was great and the rooms (we got an upgrade) were really nice. Location is close to a major highway. Ideal spot for a business trip to Istanbul.     This is a 5 year new hotel. Our room was spacious. It was on the 3rd floor and faced a busy street. But we could not hear any noise from the street. Having a smart TV in the room was very helpful. In a few of the hotel we stayed at during this trip , only had local channels without English. Our tour had a welcoming dinner on the first night at the hotel. The food quality was good and the service was excellent.There were also lots of restaurants nearby. A very vibrant neighborhood. It has an amazing pastry shop to the left of the hotel, called Çevre Pastanesi. One must go to get your sweet tooth satisfied.
