    Great stay we are on our last day and could not find fault with anything. Room always cleaned with clean towels daily. Staff very friendly, restaurant and bar very nice with lovely helpful staff. Breakfast is excellent and caters for all tastes. The fridge in room was checked daily which we did not mind, if it was not checked and restocked daily we might have had something to say. The pool open until 10pm yes you had to wear a cap so if you have one take your own. Metro stations very near hotel. Easy to use and frequent. Our Istanbul stay was very enjoyable. There is a huge shopping centre very near with multiple restaurants.

    Rooms whose windows face the corridor may cause discomfort for guests with claustrophobia sensitivity. More attention can be given to room selection for frequent guests. The grout work on the bathroom floors has been done very poorly and does not reflect the cleaning; it looks bad. The toilet should be cleaned more thoroughly, and there were hair strands on top of the towels.

    We visited the Mercure Altunizade as part of a medical package. If you are lucky then they may just empty the bins a few times a week, but you have to ask. For breakfast they offer chips and other pathetic options. Forget the restaurant as they will absolutely rip you off. I'm sure the money symbols appear in their eyes as soon as they know you are not Turkish. At breakfast the waitresses just hang around near you waiting for you to finish and leave. They check you daily to see if you have used anything from the fridge, such as drinks, snacks and water. We used nothing as it's a total rip off !. When we checked out they asked if we used any of the fridge items, i told them just one small bottle of water. They could have simply said, ok that's fine no need to pay, but no !, one pound please !. Never again !

    I stayed seven days in Mercure Hotel Altunizade, Room 413, they cleaned the room only once. That was only because I asked them to sort out the room after the second day, and they did nothing. On the third day, I just got mad, and they gave me a new room. After that, until I checked out, nobody came near the room. There were no clean towels, no clean bedsheets, and the bins were full to the top. The lights were turning on by themselves at night, and I couldn't turn them off. I got paranoid and didn't feel safe.It was not the most pleasant stay, but I really enjoyed breakfast; everything was very fresh and tasty.

    Wow, what a stay. Room very large and even had a desk and chair if you wanted to do some work. Hotel spotless and tastefully decorated. Breakfast had a huge variety in big breakfast room, lovely surroundings and you could even dine outside. Its on a quiet street too, handy as Istanbul traffic can be hectic and very noisy with car horns. It was 2 streets from the Capitol shopping centre with a supermarket for supplies. Across from The Capitol is a Metro station, just 3 stops from the Bosphorus riverfront in Uskudar. The Metro did go under the river but one metro ticket can be used on the ferry to Eminonu to visit the Grand Bazaar on the other side, much better views and than a tunnel. Very close to the Camlica Tower if you wanted to visit. The staff were amazingly helpful, knowledgeable about the local area and had fabulous English which helped as my Turkish is non existent. Down stairs is a spotless swimming pol, jacuzzi and sauna which is includedin your stay and health centre / massage at an extra cost. It is open very early until late so handy after sightseeing. Cost of staying was very reasonable and well worth it. If I ever went back to Istanbul, I would definitely stay here. I only have one photograph of the hotel but you can see its very nice, unfortunately I do not usually take pics of the hotel. There is a fabulous restaurant at the top of the street, turn right from hotel, go to the traffic lights, turn left and it is on the left at the next lights. Its called Lezzet Pasta Cafe Restaurant, fabulous food a short stroll away . . . open from 6am to 11pm. Good local dishes served and even better English.
