  Dirty, old, cockroaches no cleaning, too expensive

  We paid for and booked an economy single room at Omar sultan suit in Taksim- Istanbul via lastminute.com. When we arrived at the hotel in Istanbul, we were told by the owner Mr. "Serdar" that he had declared the voucher invalid because he had not accepted the money he received from lastminute.com and canceled the booking. otherwise he would be disadvantaged. He did have a larger room and no other economy single room available. We were allowed to use the larger room for an additional payment of 500 euros. Hotel owner Serdar, lied and said that we got the money we paid for single room through lastminute. com would get a refund. The other guests were robbed of their belongings, there were cockroaches in the room, broken sofas that had to be used as beds, dirty broken things in the room. I have contacted lastminute and requested a portion of the refund, but lastminute.com indicates that they cannot help us with anything. Dear fellow consumers, before you book a hotel via lastminute.com, I advise you to read the reviews carefully.   The location of the hotel is great, it is close to everything, welcoming staff, kind, smiling, always available but the only drawback is the cleanliness, they do not have a cleaning lady, the lady at the reception is she who does the cleaning, they do it every 4 days and sometimes more imagine 4 days without cleaning the toilets without changing the towels and sheets.   Stayed here for 2 nights for the super cup final. Hotel room was clean. Access to your room was via a lift, which was activated by the porter. The room itself was quite large and had a fridge.Location is fantastic, a minute walk to Taksim square and the lively centre. Istanbul itself is a very vibrant city with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Only city I’ve seen with as many people is Cairo. Well worth a visit
