  Great location, otherwise not up to Radisson standards, disappointing

  The big positive was the excellent location. It was perfect! We usually roll with the punches, as the expression goes, but negative things added up, starting at check-in: -The concierge when we checked in was annoying. He was insistent on booking tours for us even though, he claimed, he is not on commission. He pulled out a map and a brochure, even after we told him we had our tour itinerary set. He wanted to see it (we did not show it to him) rather than take us at our word that we didn’t want to book a tour with him. Other concierges were fine. -The hotel was kind enough to agree to your request to give us an early check in after our all-night flight. The concierge told us it would be a half hour before the room was ready, which was understandable. He gave us a choice of first or third floor, and said the third floor room would be ready first so we took it. We went to bed, but could not sleep because of the pounding and drilling above us. We called reception to complain…”They are working on the roof above you.” ( It is a three story building and we were on the third floor). So why offer us a third floor room? They did get the work stopped. -Because we were tired I opted for first night dinner in the hotel after a lovely walk in the Sultanahmed Park area. My wife slept in and I ate alone. I ordered the chicken curry. The rice was cold and the chicken was completely dried out. The waiter never asked how my meal was during the meal (standard procedure at home) and it was late, and I was tired so I didn’t seek him out to complain. Nor, by then, would I have wanted to wait to have a fresh meal prepared. I complained when I went to pay, and to their credit, they comped the meal, which I had not requested. -On line reviews praise the breakfast. Standard hotel fare, but the scrambled eggs were cold the next morning. Not praise worthy. -The room was warm and we couldn’t get the air conditioning to work so we opened the windows at night but the street noise was very loud. After a few nights we decided to ask how to fix the temperature. I couldn’t call down because unlike when I called about the roof repair, this time neither room phone worked. So I got dressed and went to the reception. A workman came up, and couldn’t get the thermostat to work either. He had to remove a ceiling tile, and do repairs on the machinery above. This is not the ideal way to unwind at bedtime. Hotel staff verified that the phones were not working, but we were not interested in prolonging the night and having them fixed at that point.The hotel was not inexpensive. They are welcome to comp us in for part or for all of one of the four nights. We strictly do not have a policy of aggressively selling packages to anyone; our only goal was to inform and guide you. We apologize if this was perceived otherwise.Restaurant and Technical Difficulties: Your feedback regarding your dining experience and the technical issues (AC and telephone) has been directly forwarded to our culinary and maintenance teams. The necessary investigations and improvements will be carried out immediately.   Great stay at Radisson Sultanahmet. Nicely located overlooking the waterfront with a 15 minute walk north to Sultanahmet square for Blue Mosque etc. Very polite, helpful and professional staff. Bedroom and communal areas very clean, comfortable and well presented. Good breakfast buffet.   Perfect Location with a Beautiful Sea View

  Great location right by the sea and within walking distance of all major attractions. Friendly and attentive staff, good breakfast with a lovely view. Rooms are clean but a bit small. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay — would definitely come back.   Excellent place to stay. Staff are so welcoming and supportive. Especially front office staff Kalandar, Hikmat and Ridvan are so supportive in everything I am so grateful to there support and help during our stay specially with my younger one. There kitchen team is also very nice and helpful treat you so well good food choices specially fresh honey and omlette counter. Ever there support staff Ereshgul was no nice and helpful cleaned our room everyday during our stay. Overall I highly recommend to stay at this hotel 5 min walk to sofiya mosque shipping tour pick up is on door steps.. I give this place a 5 Star.
