    Great hotel!

The location was great, and the hotel had a friendly atmosphere. I really liked the hotel staff and how clean the room was. The noise level was low.

    Avoid like the plague!!!

    rating21 Jun 2024

Pls avoid. Not a good hotel. Yes location is good, very close to tram.and grand bazaar. But as a hotel, this is shocking. Room was average, shower was poor. Breakfast is very bad and plain and full of salad and olives. Lift is tiny, stairs are small. Reception is unhelpful and small and unorganised. Pay a few pounds more and stay elsewhere. Room had insects. I stayed here with 3 young teenagers. I would defo not come back here if u paid me. Don't base staying here on bookin.com, not sure how it got a 7 out of 10 review. Only thing going for it is the location.

Do not believe all you see online. Pictures are deceiving

Renzo Hotel's housekeeping is pathetic. Rooms are not cleaned timeously/daily. Toilet rolls & coffee supplies are not replenished. Towels & bath mats are filthy, stained & not changed daily. Shower too small, no shower door, toilet seat broken. Mouldy ceiling & walls. Very noisy due to traffic & Azaan. Taxis not prepared to drop you off at entrance of hotel, but at bottom of street. Had to push luggage up cobblestone road. Reception & lift very small. Staff were not knowledgeable wrt restaurants & site seeing. Breakfast was standard. The transfer arranged by hotel arrived 45 minutes late, resulting in us missing our international flight. Not acceptable!

Worst Hotel ever. Please dont book here!

    rating19 Sept 2022

Please run from Renzo Hotel. Probably the worst hotels I've ever been. There are so many bad things that I dont even know where to start. First day, we arrived at the hotel and the receptionist didnt speak english so he called to the "manager" that told us that the hotel was overbooked for the first night, so they had to move us to another one at the end of the street called Amber Hotel. Besides the fact that the room was terrible (tv didnt work, water boiling machine super dirty, only one plug in the entire room that wasnt even near the bed), the worst was yet to come. It was around midnight, we had the room door locked and we were already in bed when out of the suddent we hear someone trying to open the door and a man entered our room. It was probably one of the biggest scares of our lives. It turned out that was an hotel employee that was searching for a room to sleep but of course the lack of security we felt was beyond explainable. The man didnt know (as they all dont) how to speak english so it was complicated to understand who was he and what was he doing. We hurried to find another hotel and get out of that worror movie asap but booking.com for some reason doesnt work in istambul and all the hotels we tried to reach were already full for that night. So we had to stay in that hotel but of course we didnt slept at all that night. The next day we went to renzo. Again no one knew how to speak english so we had to comunicate via google translator. I mean I can understand that the cleaning lady doesnt need to speak english but the guy from the reception?? No that is unacceptable. Then the room.. from durty towells to a whole in the bathroom ceeling (as you can see in the pictures attached), the sleeping pillows without cover, the tap that was broken and the very very poor breakfast.. everything was so so bad. The fact that we had to comunicate via google translate to the receptionist (that very rarely was in the reception) and we had to yell to find him was also terrible. The top of the cake was when we asked the "hotel" to help us to call for a taxi to the airport and he said that the transfer was 50€ (it was only 30€ from the airport to the hotel). Because we knew that wasnt a fair price and he was trying to scheme us, we went to another hotel at that street and ask them if they could call a cab for us. They were super nice and we only paid 25€ (half what the "receptionist" from Renzo was asking). So the hotel were we werent even clients was much nicer than our own!! Regarding the location, was one of the worst areas around. Although you are just about 15 minutes from the main attractions, I didnt feel safe at all in that area unlike the center of sultanahmet for example. Around the hotel you have a lot of shops but for some reason they have tons of merchant in the middle of the street and it get super dirty with a lot of trash. Also, unlike some other areas at night it seems that the vibe is different. Everyone says that istambul is super safe but honestly I didnt felt safe in those streets so I would recommend you to find something nearer sultanahmet and run away from Renzo and Amber hotels.

    Good location but terrible housekeeping

    rating08 Jun 2022

Terrible housekeeping, had to ask for toilet roll and towels. Coffee supplies weren’t replenished. Was a good location though easy to navigate the city being just down the road from the tram. Breakfast was okay, nothing too special about it.
