Location

Located in the Sultanahmet district of the city, the hotel is ideally situated for visiting the major attractions on foot. Local amenities such as bars, shops and restaurants are also within close proximity of the hotel. There are links to the public transport network 2 minutes' walk from the hotel and it takes around 20 minutes to reach the nightlife of Istiklal Street and 25 minutes to reach Taksim Square in the city centre. The Sea of Marmara is a 7-minute walk, while the Blue Mosque is just 400 metres away, Hagia Sophia and Grand Bazaar are 600 metres away, and Topkapi Palace is some 800 metres. Istanbul-Atatürk Airport is approximately 15 km from the hotel and Sabiha Gökçen Airport is roughly 45 km away.

Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 50 rooms. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     Older hotel & very basic. Price was excellent. The staff were the best. Arif & his team are so lovely, really helpful with directions & advice. Arif booked our tours for us & was always on call to us. Couldn’t meet a nicer man. View from terrace incredible. Location was great. Very basic hotel, but extremely good value.

    From the moment I left Spain where I live I was taken care of by Aref, the receptionist. I sent a message via booking.com asking about hotel transfer to the hotel from the airport. I got a very quick reply with loads of options and prices. I decided not to use the shuttle service, it was too expensive for me. Aref suggested I took the public bus, and he gave me all the directions I needed. I couldn’t have asked for more. I have never had that quick reply, and attention to detail. Real personalised touch and very much appreciated.

    The man in charge was so friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. It was very clean and tidy. Fabulous roof top terrace with a great view over the bosphorous and a beautiful mosque next door, all lit up in the evening. Off the main busy streets but close to the main hippodrome and the main attractions, just a few minutes walk.

    We stayed at the Sultan during a 5 day layover on the way home. We enjoyed the Sultan as it is located on a quiet street just blocks from restaurants, the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar and Topkapi Palace Museum to name a few.Our room was spotless, the bed very comfortable and clean towels every day. Breakfast buffet was good and dinner a wide variety of choices.
