  Serious Security Concern – Guest Entered Our Room at Night

  I have just got back from my stay at Green Park Hotel Bostancı in Istanbul during a surgery trip, and unfortunately my experience was quite mixed.My biggest concern was a serious security issue — last night, on our last night, a female guest walked into our room in the middle of the night using a key card. This was very alarming and left me feeling quite uneasy, as it raised concerns about how secure the rooms actually are. Thankfully we were in the room at the time, but it could have been a much worse situation. It makes me feel something dodgy was going on…..There were also some cleanliness and maintenance issues. On the first night, the bedsheets had old blood stains on them. This was resolved quickly by the staff, however it’s not something you expect when arriving at a hotel. The following night, the replacement sheets had cigarette burns, which again reflects poor attention to detail.We were given a “newly refurbished” room, and while parts of it were done nicely, there were still many areas that felt outdated or in need of improvement — such as the TV, fridge, and bathroom, which was very dark and could do with a refresh.Another downside was the strong smell of smoke throughout the hotel. While my husband was in the gym, I tried to relax in the spa lobby, but staff were smoking in the spa office area, which made it very uncomfortable as a non-smoker, and I ended up leaving.In terms of comfort, we did actually sleep okay and the room was very warm. However, it was difficult to have the window open as the nearby mosque was very loud early in the morning and woke us up each day. I understand this is part of the local culture, but it is something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper. The hotel was also quite noisy at times, with other guests frequently slamming doors and making noise. This isn’t necessarily a reflection on the hotel itself, but worth noting.On a more positive note, the breakfast staff were lovely and welcoming. However, the breakfast itself was quite limited, with minimal options and items not being regularly replenished.Overall, I stayed here purely for convenience during my surgery trip, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t choose to return.

  The hotel is not a 5 star itself but staff are friendly and one man in particular MERDAN he works as a Kashier front of house in the restaurant. I also see him be kind and make an effort with everyone being helpful and suggesting things to do in the city and giving me leaflets he’s a great asset to the hotel

  It's not a hotel ! No service, housekeeping came without knocking to my door when I was without clothes. Gym should work from 9 o clock , I usually train before breakfast. I standed near gym till 9.30, it was closed. I called to room service, I wanted them to bring glasses for wine, I asked about it 6 times, but a got glasses only when i came for it myself. It's an awfully place, I will never return!!!

  There’s construction going on near the hotel. The view from the window depends on your luck – either you’ll get a view of garages or of the island. As for the location, I can’t say much, it really depends on your personal goals. However, the hotel itself is old, with cheap and worn-out furnishings.One major downside is the restaurants. The one on the ground floor has a particularly poor level of service. Breakfast was okay – it’s hard to mess up sliced cheese and olives. But dinner on the first night was a nightmare. Our waitress, a young woman from Kazakhstan (unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name, but she always had a braid), couldn’t take an order for fish in any language. She’s probably the worst server I’ve ever encountered. When we asked for a different waiter, we were ignored. None of the nine people in our group had a decent meal. The salads were especially awful – we felt like goats since they were basically just cabbage with little else. The cutlery was dirty, and we had to wipe it ourselves as it was covered in fingerprints.The next day, we gave the restaurant on the 11th floor a chance. The food wasn’t great, but at least the service was better. In the beauty salon, our booking was ignored. They didn’t find a replacement for someone who didn’t show up, and the same receptionist doubled as a nail technician. The other stylist, a man, didn’t even follow basic rules for drying hair properly.We decided to give the club a try as well, but when we arrived, the sofas were filthy. We had to clean them ourselves, and even when we switched seats, those couches were dirty too. Who knows how long it had been since they last cleaned. We didn’t want to spoil the mood since we were there for a wedding.Of the two elevators, one broke down the day we arrived. The other one didn’t even display the floors. At 3 AM, we were woken up by loud banging as someone hammered a door on our floor. The doors in the rooms are old and damaged. Our room itself was neat and clean, but everything felt outdated – definitely not what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.

  This is one of the worst hotels i've been to. This is not a 5 star hotel, not even in its best day! The bed sheet are so old, they are ripped and the pillows have a wierd smell. The furniture is also old and "fixed" with paint. The wall cover looks like someone's failed diy project. The bathroom smells. The towels are ripped. The floor it's the cheapest you could find on the market. No room service and not the friendliest staff. Very old TV. Also there is no big light in the room, just lamps. Overall a total mess! Don't go there, not if you're looking for a 5star exeprience
