  A great hotel a short distance from the tram station

  The Meretto Hotel was a great choice! The price was affordable, the room and bathroom were comfortable and we had a street view. The room and bathroom are cleaned every day. Each room has a small kettle and tea and coffee sachets. Large mirrors in the room and the bathroom. A small cupboard with coathangers as well as a chest of drawers. There is also a safe in the cupboard. Enough space in the room for two large open suitcases. There are various lighting options, which is really great. There is a bar fridge with water that is replenished every day. A TV that has an English news channel. The room was not too noisy, only on Saturday evening, as there is a bar nearby.There are a spa, sauna and swimming pool in the hotel at some cost, that some of my friends enjoyed. I did not have time to experience it. The breakfast was great, with quite a variety of options! I am really missing it! The staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They bring you water or tea if you have to wait for a transfer or for some friends in the lobby.There is a small but adequate supermarket nearby. There is a money exchange nearby, as well as bankomatiks (auto banks) to withdraw cash. The biggest advantage of the hotel is the fact that it is within a short walking distance from the tram station that gives access to the the most important tourist sites. There are also many small shops and restaurants within walking distance. The food there was great and affordable. We could also walk to the Wednesday market near the Fatih Mosque. This is something you should really visit! I will definitely go back to this hotel and can really recommend it.

  I want to complain about fraud as the hotel is cheating customers through the Agoda app. The hotel’s name is Meretto Hotel. The address is Kemalpasa Mahallesi Salimpasa Sok. No: 25/27 Laleli - Fatih / ISTANBUL. I bought a standard room from them with amenities above the basement, but they cheat customers and send them to the basement. They use the name of another intermediary organization named Hotelbeds and say they are making reservations. Thus, the client remains deceived and the money is not returned. If the customer even shows their order through Agoda, they use a completely different booking from another company.I’ve never experienced this kind of cheating and problem in other countries. In Japan, Italy and France we always had the same room as in pictures, described features of the room. Here in Istanbul, they lie and do not help customers at all.

  First of all, the staff who are trained to meet the demands of the customers. High class cleanliness. Disposable slippers. Breakfast was good except for the instant coffee. The area is crowded, but it is usual for Istanbul, you have quick access to Yenikapi.If you want landscapes on the window, this is not the case.

  Pros:+Location (2 minutes to the tram, 7 to the subway)+Staff (extremely friendly and helpful, always willing to go the extra mile)+Clean+Rooms are well furnished (The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms in particular is very well fitted)+The view from the breakfast floor is amazing+The breakfast is tasty and doesn’t run out of any foods by the end (which is a common issue even for European 4* hotels in my experience)+Safe district (well lit and rather active)Cons (more of nitpicks):-The rooms are fairly small (around 25 m2, it was plenty enough for my significant other and I, but may be small if you are traveling with a kid or prefer more space)-The street can get loud due to bar, closing the window almost fully negates the noise but not fully. (The staff however warned us at check in and asked to immediately ask for a room change if we had trouble with the noise)-The breakfast has a bit of everything but could benefit from more variety (there is only one type of fried eggs (again more of a nitpick))TLDR As good as the majority of 4* hotels I’ve been to in most aspects, sometimes better. Amazing value for money

  Right in the heart of it all!

  What a great experience! The staff from the reception to the manager himself are absolutely wonderful. Extremely informative and welcoming. If you want to be in the heart of it all be sure to stay here it’s right in the thick of it all for that authentic Istanbul experience. Rooms are well equipped and shower was great with heated tiles for the colder season.
