    Off the Beaten Path Value

    rating06 Sept 2024

A small, reasonably-priced hotel within easy walking distance to all sights in Sultanahmet. I stayed in a ground-floor room that was more than adequate for my solo needs - large bed, en suite bathroom and shower, a/c, flatscreen TV (I never watched it), excellent wi-fi, and safe. Breakfast from 7-10 am with typical Turkish breakfast selections. The hotel is located on an alley that is easy to miss. I took taxis from and to the main airport (IST) about an hour away depending on time of the day and traffic; not sure about nearby parking, but then I definitely would NOT drive in Istanbul traffic (and I’ve been in Paris, Rome, Bangkok . . . and LA)!There are plenty of restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel. They all have menus posted outside. Most restaurants are Turkish cuisine, but there were a couple of Indian and one “BBQ” nearby; don’t bother looking for Italian or Mexican - they don’t exist. The hotel is surrounded by carpet merchants on at least 3 sides, so be prepared to be confronted by friendly but insistent cappers who will try to befriend you, offer you tea, sit you down, and turn you over to salesmen. If you plan to purchase a carpet, study up in advance to appreciate source, quality, materials, knot count, etc. if you haven’t studied in advance, hold off until you can, return to one or more shops, ask lots of questions, and be prepared to say “no” and walk out! There is a tram at the Sultanahmet Square nearby that can take you to within walking distance of the Spice Market and Grand Bazaar. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and Basilica Cistern are within very short walking distances, so no taxis “TAKSis) are necessary. Based on my visits to these sites, I do not believe that they are accessible to mobility-challenged visitors. Modest attire for men and women is required. Would I return to this hotel? Solo. yes. If accompanied, I would have to assess my partner’s tolerance for basics vs luxury. If with children, no. PS I am a senior citizen from California USA and have traveled extensively around the world.

    A very good central hotel

    rating03 Aug 2023

Its a quite good 4star hotel which takes 10/10 as regards its location if you wish to stay at the region of Sultanahmet, very close to Agia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Basilica Cinstera. The room is as the photos of the hotel show. Its rather small but it is really clean. The problem of the hotel is only its poor breakfast which i beleive they have to improve. The fact that there is not elevator is also a problem especially if you return tired or you are in older age.In general its a good hotel with kind personnel that i may visit it again if i go to Instanbul.

    Superb location and warm staff

    rating17 Jan 2023

The hotel is superbly located, right behind the Hagia Sofia. It’s a cozy hotel with very friendly staff. I had an early morning arrival and I wasn’t sure they’d allow me to check in. To my surprise, they not only gave me the room, but also invited me to have breakfast! The staff are all very helpful when I need information or have questions. Very good communication prior to arrival. The room is a bit too small. Not like the photos on display. But at least it’s cozy and clean. Beware that the hotel is located in the zone where vehicles are not allowed. When you travel with luggage there will be a small inconvenience coming in the hotel. When I left, the hotel staff helped me with my luggage all the way to the taxi.

    Good location

    rating05 Jun 2022

The hotel was in an extremely convenient location with very helpful staff who gave us a gift as we checked out however there was a lot of negatives namely the room was tiny with a hard sheet as opposed to a duvet and the en-suite was a glass box in the room (although designed) so lacked privacy.
