    Disappointed Stay

    rating23 May 2026

Great looking boutique hotel, near Taksim Square, with oversized rooms and some lovely staff ( namely Omar at front desk and the ladies in the breakfast room), but otherwise our stay was disappointing. Our room was not cleaned very well, coffee ( bland Nescafé)was not replaced for 3 days, the TV had no English language channels ( even though it said it did, and as we had 3 rooms, no one could get English language on their TV.For guests from English language countries, communication was difficult and for a hotel purporting to be be of a high standard this left a lot to be desired ( at one stage I waited at front desk for someone that spoke English to ask for some directions, for 15 minutes, as no staff were anywhere to be found ).This hotel could be so good, but falls down on little things that matter.

Good location & room - sound proofing not great

    rating11 Sept 2025

The location was great on a side road just off istiklal street. A short walk to the taksim metro station. The hotel aesthetic was very pretty and the room was quite large. The check in and check out process was really easy. They do also keep your bags if you have a late flight and need to wander around after you check out. The only issue we had was that the soundproofing in the room was not great. We could hear the people in the next room. We could also hear the upstairs neighbors when they walked up and down or moved stuff.

I had a truly wonderful experience staying at this hotel. I absolutely fell in love with the design of the space—it was incredibly artistic, and every corner had its own unique charm and beauty. The hotel was spotless, the staff were exceptionally professional and friendly, and everything was of excellent quality. Staying here was such a pleasant and memorable experience for me. I would definitely love to come back!

Room Mate Emir, Istanbul: I pen reviews post checkout for balanced perspectives, but I thought I’d hash this out for those looking to book. It’s night 4 of the 5 nights we booked, and I was too exhausted to type. Don’t let the shiny pictures on the site, insouciant Spanish vibes and booking engines fool you. It’s a bit of a lipstick on a pig situation here. For what you’re about to shell out, everything falls short. It was a toss-up between this and McGallery for us and I feel that hot flush of regret. So here goes the succinct points:Pros:1. In the heart of Beyoglu, the hip trendy area where the cute cafes, restaurants, bars, quaint antique shops are. 2. The check-in area is gorgeous – it sets the false tones of a premium experience. There is a lobby area too with playful and stylissimo furniture. 3. Depending on the room type you get – we had a suite and at first impression, we were wowed. 4. The early evening shift duo staff are lovely – they tried to compensate for the litany of shortcomings. Cons:1. The room floor is very dirty – our feet were so dirtied the white bathmat turned brown. 2. Fittings and furnishings are pretty worn out – our bedside lights were broken with lamps resting on our pillows. Some sockets don’t work. You hafta hunt down the ones that do. 3. Water and bar items are super expensive. Unlike most hotels, they don’t give you complimentary room water.4. Toiletries – toiletries dispensers are disheveled. Shower gel dispenser is a hard push for tiny squirts. At some points, the dispenser sank down. Conditioner seems watered down with water. Your hair becomes straw like. We also ran out of hair conditioner day 4, despite reminders for top-ups. Shower heads are odd – it’s between a handheld or super massive rain shower. You constantly get your hair and inside of your ears wet. 5. Bath towels are thin and smell funky – not of hotel quality. 6. Here’s what super miffed me. I booked Room Mate Emir as there was a gym, sauna and surprisingly, there’s a mini hammam. But all these are in the dark basement below with no AC. So, you can’t work out without suffocating. The sweet reception staff turned on the sauna for me twice but it’s creepy in the basement and the entire area looks like it’s been abandoned. I hope this helps your decision making. #eatstylishtravelstylish
