    Cozy hostel in nice place

    rating17 Oct 2014

I and my girlfriend stayed in the VVD for 10 days. We are satisfied with all the conditions. Maybe as only drawback, - the Wi-Fi signal was weak on third floor, but still was usable. The Ata and Aras are very friendly and helpful. We visited Istanbul to know the city. Nevertheless most of the sightseeing are on the other, European part of the city, we are glad to choose Asian part. It was more cozy for us than Sultanahmet or Beyoglu, more turkish than touristic. About 15 minutes walking to ferry and metro station. Ferry are going very often to other side and accurate to schedule. Sam and Anna, Ukraine, Odessa.

The place to be for a different point of view to the city

I think that no one can make sense correctly about Istanbul if he doesn't exit the classic areas of tourism; this place is on the asian side, in a quarter less visited but more autenthic of Istanbul. Here you can sleep in a real traditional wooden house. The atmosphere is very quiet and the staff helpful and friendly. We came here by feet (20 min. forom the port) but there is also a bus station very close. The breakfast is good.I would definitely recommend it to real travellers.

New hotel in its golden age

    rating30 May 2014

Apparently there is not many hotel in that area, since the hotel has no sign outside the building, it'd be a bit hard to find, although i had no problem to reach there, but some other people did find it difficult to locate it.The hotel is quite nice, an old building but newly renovated, I stay two nights in Private room and two nights in dorm room, since the floor is paved by timber, so it makes quite noisy when people walk up and down. the Private room is roomy, quite nice indeed.i found very hard to sleep in the dorm room, i think its my personal problem. the breakfast is fine. not too bad, two guys operate this place, they are nice.

    Highly recommendable hostel

    rating17 Dec 2013

Very friendly and helpful hosts.Nice hostel with lots of wood, which makes it very cosy. Clean rooms and sanitary. Located on the Asian side, which makes it more authentic; transport to more touristic Western side very easy. Last but not least : the hosts speak English, German and Spanish!

    Great hotel

    rating26 Oct 2013

Veni Vidi Dormi is a lovely wooden-house style hotel and hostel. It's a really unique place, with a combination of laid-back atmosphere and high-quality rooms, but still quite affordable. Everything is very clean and the staff are very friendly. The only thing that they could add is a toaster for breakfast time for us north-western Europeans/Australians/Japanese etc.! (Sliced bread in Turkey isn't that great otherwise), and maybe some individual portions of butter/jam/honey instead of the larger ones, but apart from that you can get free tea/coffee in the kitchen whenever you like.
