    The worst hostel ever!

    The socalled hostel are two rooms refurbished as hostel dorms in the basement of an actual hotel (Vizyon Hotel). By basement area I mean storage rooms. You won’t find easily the name of the hostel anywhere in the façade. You need to check-in in the reception of the hotel. The reception is not big and that’s what they consider the common area of the hostel. We found out that you could not eat there.While the female dorm is clean enough, the private bathroom is tiny and the shower glass is broken. You need to ask for sheets (and blankets- more on that later). In the shared female room, there was a woman living there (she was staying there for over a month by the time we left) who made all of us feel scared. She said she was friend’s of the hostel’s owner. She was terrorrifically obsessed about small things, and about the AC in particular. For example: she slept holding the AC controller tight so nobody could change the freezing temperature that she had set up. The room was so cold that every other person sleeping in there had to, literally, sleep under THREE winter blankets. She was also bothered by people eating in the room (which I can understand), but funny enough, she was the first one having breakfast every morning in there at 7:30h.Staff: they are helpful after you repeat several times your (basic hostel-type) needs. Furthermore, they were unable to deal with the maniatic and irritating behaviour of the woman who was clearly having a negative impact on everyone’s experience staying in that building (staff included). Conclusion: while it’s very centric and that’s very comfortable because you can walk to the main touristic sites easily (and there are supermarkets close by), it’s not worth the price (7€/ night). There are other hostels for the same price in better conditions and friendlier staff.

    This hotel is terrible. Do not come here, they just do as they please, we had booked 6 months in advance and they will change your room and transfer your clothes and values like it is theirs, without permission. The service is horrible.

    Vizyon Hotel is tucked away in a back street in Cemberlitas, within easy walking distance of the main tourist sites. My room was a decent size and quiet at night. The bathroom was small but plenty of hot water. Staff were really sweet and super helpful. The breakfast was decent but would have loved some fresh fruit. For Istanbul this is a great budget place, better than many I have previously stayed in and I will be back.

    READ BEFORE BOOKING!! Very dirty, had to change room three times. First room: toilet doors didn’t close and room was dirty. Second room: very noisy (elevator sounds) and dirty (again). Third room: just dirty, fridge/electric kettle doesn’t work. They didn’t return our money so we had to stay there by force. Breakfast is a joke - cereals are just left there to stick to each other for eternity. STAFF? UNCULTURED SWINES. They don’t know what the meaning of “clean” is. (Night shift guy was the only good person) Stayed there three nights. THEY NEVER CLEAND OUR ROOM. NEVER made beds or changed towels.FYI “new” towels are thrown on sixth flore on the stairs. I’d rather chop my hand off than go to this hotel. With that price you can get to better place.

    perfect for budget travelers

    Hotel was cheap and rooms appeared to be good quality compared to same price or slightly more expensive hotels located around this area. Breakfast was also good enough. No cleaning process related mess or old furniture in corridors which we saw in previous hotel in same area (Art city hotel) and in general it was more clean and fresh furniture/walls/bathroom. To compare them both previous one was also more expensive and without breakfast included so my personal opinion is good about this hotel. Around hotel is also plenty jewlery producing equipment and tool shops if someone is interested ;) staff, especially receptionists were helpful and spoke English.
