  A Great Family Hotel

  I’ll start with the negative thingsWi-Fi: The Wi-Fi is more often not working than working?? If you need internet, you cannot rely on the hotel Wi-Fi.??English: Most of the staff don’t speak English, which wouldn’t be such a big problem if those same staff members didn’t work at reception. At reception, there is only one girl (the brunette with curly hair) who understands and speaks English well. All praise to this girl, she does an excellent job! ????Apart from her, you can also communicate in English with the head chef, the photographer and the guy who hands out the pool towels.Pool: At 7 a.m., all the sunbeds are already “reserved” with towels. Those same guests sometimes don’t show up until 11:30. The hotel staff do nothing about it, even after you complain. At most, there is an announcement saying that the towels will be collected, which never actually happens.The hotel itself looks much nicer in person than it does in the pictures. The staff are helpful and friendly. At the entrance, you are welcomed by bellboys who don’t speak a word of English, but they are so positive and friendly (and they will even use Google Translate because they genuinely want to understand you). All praise to the guys doing this job.Rooms: The rooms are very clean and tidy and look better than in the pictures. The housekeeping staff do their job well and quickly. Your room will already be cleaned by the time you come back from breakfast.Food: There is something for everyone. Typical Turkish food, tasty and varied. A very large selection of salads. Every day, one soup, three different types of meat and three different types of side dishes are served (if I remember correctly). The cakes are perfect????With all three meals, fruit is also available.What makes enjoying the food a little more difficult is the very long queue??Compliments to the chef.The hotel has a lot of natural shade. If you are coming by car, the entire parking area is shaded.There is also natural shade at the children’s playground, so the little ones can enjoy it even in the afternoon. The playground is great and perfectly suited for small children.Next to the playground, there is also an indoor children’s playroom, which is perfect. In the evening, there is a mini disco, which the children will certainly find interesting.The small pool is also perfect for children, with various slides.The hotel has a very nice private beach. One thing you should keep in mind is that the sea in Özdere is quite wavy, but of course, that is not something the hotel can influence. ?? The sea and the beach are very clean.The hotel is around 45 minutes from the airport, which is great if you are travelling with a small child.Grand Efe is an excellent hotel for children. The staff are very kind and friendly towards the little ones. I would recommend it to anyone planning a family holiday.I believe that for people who speak Turkish and can communicate with the staff, the experience is probably even better.

  Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is a bit older, but it is very clean and well maintained. The rooms have been renovated, are spotless, and housekeeping does a great job every day.The highlight of this hotel is definitely the breathtaking view. Waking up to the sea, the island across the water, and the palm trees was unforgettable. It is truly one of the most beautiful views I’ve experienced.The biggest downside is the main restaurant during peak hours. You have to wait in long queues for the main dishes and buffet, which feels more like a school cafeteria than a relaxing holiday. If you accidentally stand in the wrong place, people are quick to get annoyed. The food itself is tasty, but salads and desserts are very repetitive. On the positive side, there is a good variety of main courses, and almost every evening there is something different to try.One thing that surprised me was the lack of traditional Turkish sweets like Turkish delight, and there was no ice cream at all. For an all-inclusive hotel during the summer, this was quite disappointing. Breakfast is good, but I also noticed there was no ayran and no regular tea bags—only strong Turkish tea, which may not suit everyone’s taste.As for the bars, the wine and soft drinks were the best options. The cocktails (if they can even be called cocktails) were disappointing and served in paper cups at the beach bar, even when sitting at the tables. Most of the bartenders were not particularly friendly and spoke very limited English. However, one young blond bartender at the restaurant bar was exceptional—very friendly, spoke excellent English, and genuinely cared about the guests. The young woman at the restaurant entrance also deserves recognition. She was always smiling, welcoming, and communicated confidently in English.The sea is beautiful. There are quite a few stones near the shore, but further in it becomes much sandier, and I personally loved swimming there.Another major issue is the beach umbrellas, both on the beach and on the grassy area. They provide almost no shade, so unless you manage to sit under a palm tree, you can easily get sunburned. Many of the umbrellas are broken, bent, and too low. Some of the sunbed mattresses were moldy, and several loungers were damaged. This is definitely something the hotel should improve.The large swimming pool is constantly full of small children. Considering there are also large water slides, I think more attention should be paid to safety. Either there should be some restrictions for very young children, or a better safety system should be introduced.The entertainment was almost entirely in Turkish. Occasionally a few English words were used, but most activities and announcements were only in Turkish. The music throughout the day was also almost exclusively Turkish and repeated the same playlist every day, with very little variety. One of the animators barely spoke English, which was surprising for someone working in guest entertainment at an international resort.Overall, we enjoyed our holiday thanks to the beautiful location, clean rooms, and stunning views. However, there are several areas that need improvement to make international guests feel more comfortable. Better English communication from the staff, improved beach facilities, more variety in the food and entertainment, and a more organized restaurant experience would make a significant difference. With these improvements, this hotel could provide an even better experience for its guests.

  Hotel on approach and initial reception area looked promising. The room was ok but after being there for a while you notice a couple of things. As the day goes on the bathroom starts to smell like a sewer/urine as it must go in a sump. Had to run the shower and leave it on to water down and get rid of foul smell as there is no window or ventilation.The pool is ok but does get crowded and the slides were fun.Good location on the beach with good swimming in a marked area. Beach jetski and ‘banana rides but very expensive for the amount of time they give you. 60 euros for 15 minutes.The location-not much in the way of walking distance.So the main reason it got a low score was the food. Now I visit lots of places and have been to many different star hotels. This is advertised as 4 star. The food was not that inspiring and for a ‘4star’ there was very little in the way of choice. The main problem is that 89% of the food had flies constantly landing on it. On the mains, on the bread on the salads on the deserts. Sit at the table and flies. Sit on the veranda for a drink at night-flies, sit on the sunbeds-flies. So off putting and definitely not a 4 star, I would give it a 3 star at a push.

  Not recommended this hotel because it was so dirty and full of flies.staffed not spiking english we stayed 7 days and they charged the sheets just 1 time although it was necessary because I had an accident with my period just they took out the rubbish every day the towels were not changed every day and the worst thing was I live them on the floor because they were dirty and wet and they hanging up back on rail same food for 7 days poor. If your flight is late at night you don’t have access any more to any services after checking out they cut the bracelet and no longer access the service

  Very disappointing

  We are at this hotel now and we are really disappointed. We arrived 7 am Wednesday morning and weren’t allowed to checkin until 2pm after flying through the night. We were also charge €15 for breakfast because we couldn’t have our all inclusive bands until 2 pm. Staff are very unhelpful and use google translate to communicate. The food is catered for everyone apart from English guests. All signage in hotel is in many languages apart from English. The location is bad as hotel is off a dual carriageway and there is nothing outside of the hotel. Yes the hotel is lovely but that’s about it. Would not recommend this hotel if you are English and that is not a racist comment. They just don’t cater for English guests
