Great B&B with an amazing owner

    rating16 Jun 2014

We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of June 2014 and had a great time. The owner (Yalçin) could not do enough for us. The place has lovely rooms, really nicely decorated and very clean and Yalçin prepares an excellent and varied Turkish breakfast every morning. He is also great at providing tips for things to do and restaurant recommendations and regularly went out of his way to help us (e.g. when he found out I was Coeliac he somehow got hold of some gluten free bread). Location of the hotel is perfect (although Alacati is so small that it would be hard to go wrong) and prices are really reasonable. Coulfn't have been better!

    Great Experience at MaSala

    rating24 Jun 2013

This is a great Boutique Hotel in the now prohibitively expensive Cesme Peninsula. When I first had come to Alacati back in early 2000's you could get B&B's for as low as $50-80 and still had a great time. Along with the economic rise of Turkey, Alacati has become absurdly expensive. This hotel is one where the owner has kept an outstanding quality of service, a personal connection with the customers and a very clean hotel at very reasonable rates. The unique stone masonry of the home, and the service make the experience really special. Even in the busy season where obvious price gouging is practiced by most Hotel owners, this particular hotel has been very honest and reasonable in its pricing. The breakfast by the way is outstanding, fresh local ingredients and a rich palette of local Aegean dishes. By the way each day a different combination of dishes are served, so overall you can see a lot of thought went into the preparation. If you are looking for a clean room, quiet and peace of mind, and awesome breakfast, I highly recommend MaSala.

    Outstanding B&B

    rating14 Jun 2013

This hotel is perfectly located in town despite being difficult to locate initially upon arrival to Alacate. Don't worry, the B&B exists and it is great!. The location is apart enough from the noise of the crowds but also close to walk to everything. Our room was the "Lavender" and was big, clean and decorated in a simple and tasteful way. Our room had stone walls (as the rest of the house, very cute) and a big window. Parking is nearby. The Breakfast was yummy!!! very gourmet made of local cheeses, eggs, fresh bread and jams, coffee and juice. Yalcin (our host) makes a great turkish coffee upon request and is very nice, he makes you feel truly welcome. My husband and I had a bad experience with Pegasus (the airline) because they lost our suitcase for one day and Yalcin helped us with the situation calling and even picking up our suitcase in the closest town so we wouldn't waste our time looking for the luggage. He also helped us with the car rental because nobody in the office could speak english. This B&B has everything we needed for our stay in Alacati and is as cute as it looks in the pictures!

    "SUPERB"

    rating11 Mar 2013

We stayed there in September and everything was perfect. Mr. Yalcin is the owner of place and he is a very intellectual gentleman and great host. Location is great, you are just 1 min away from all attractions in Alacati but hotel is in a quite little old street so you can have a very good night's sleep. I must add rooms was very clean and tidy.House is decorated delightfully, every detail is speaking for itself, very elegant. Breakfast was amazing and especially the way they serve it. We have catched some fish during the day, Mr. Yalcin prepared them for us along with a great salad, we ate together, it was like a family dinner. Total atmosphere in Alacati is similar, you feel like visiting your old neighbors, everybody is friendly. We have been in Cesme 2 times before this holiday and stayed in hotels but Alacati and those stone house boutiques are nothing comparable. If you choose Cesme for your holiday you should stay in Alacati and stay in Masala... It was definitely our best holiday experience, highly recommending...
