  Lovely bungalows

  Loved having a bungalow for our family of 5. They're basic but clean and a nice size. It's a lovely setting, the staff were very nice and we enjoyed the proximity to town. Would stay again.

  Simple but beautiful - a little oasis

  What a gem! This hotel was just perfect for what we wanted. Individual lodges in beautifully landscaped gardens that felt like a little oasis of nature away from the main centre of La Fortuna. It was an easy 5-10 minute walk to get to shops, restaurants and the centre so we never struggled to find meals. The swimming pool with the backdrop of the Arenal volcano was perfect for our children. Breakfast was largely typical Costa Rican, with fruit, toast and pancakes also on offer. The reception staff in particular were so friendly and helpful. We saw/heard so many different birds on site, and often saw iguanas too. The lodge was basic, we were all in one room (2 adult, 2 teens - 3 queen beds), but we wanted a rustic-feel and so it was exactly as expected. We had a fridge so bought drinks from a local supermarket to keep cold. We would absolutely stay here again, it had such a wonderful charm to it.

  Simple but very comfortable stay in amazing nature with Volcano in sight

  The tropical plants , animals and birdlife are amazing and very present. Howler monkeys howl.Stayed with a group trip for 2 nights.Cabin was comfortable, loud dawn chorus starts about 4am. Breakfast is typically Costa Rican buffet style.Our 'twin' cabin had 2 double 1 single very comfortable beds.Definitely no WiFi/ signal for your own data except by the reception building and the breakfast area which are both some way off.Excellent base for visiting Arenal Lake & Forest and hot geothermal springs.Loads of wildlife options. Beautiful.We had a Sloth towel sculpture, then a rabbit, so sweet.

  There are only 2 positives of this hotel. The lovely gardens and friendly receptionists. There are absolutely no facilities for food or drink, even filtered water, after breakfast. Breakfast choice was very limited and hardly anything to choose from.The hotel recommended a local restaurant nearby but failed to mention you need a reservation so couldn’t eat there. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining whilst we were there as you had no choice but to go out for food and drink.Pool was ok but pool furniture shabby and needs replacing and there are no umbrellas.Room a reasonable size but shabby and shower not much more than a pipe out of the wall.Asked for an extra bin as the only bin available was the one for toilet tissue and they wouldn’t give me one.Am not sure how this is a 3 star hotel with no facilities. Not even doors on the toilet cubicles near the restaurant.Such a shame as the gardens are beautiful.

  The rooms are a good size, in individual cabins, with air-conditioning but no wifi in the rooms. There's a limited breakfast buffet, with no fruit juice (only squash), and no cereals.
