    A good Home Base in Izmir

    We spent two nights at this hotel when we came from Hierapolis and made it as our base going to Ephesus. Having said this, Ontur Hotel is a good home base for exploring the nearby historic sites. Aside from its central location in Izmir, the hotel is nearby several shops and restaurants and walking distance to the ClockTower- 15-18 minute walk. One can walk to visit the seaside promenade from the hotel around 10 minute-walk. We had a spacious suite room with a queen bed and a separate living room , ensuite toilet and bath, his and hers sink with lots of toiletries and towels. However ,the breakfast buffet is ordinary. The staff, speaks Turkish and English, are professional and courteous.

    Good location, clean rooms and friendly staff.Air con is very tricky as not blowing out cold air.It was reported and the maintenance guy did have a look but it was still not working properly. NOTE: The air con is also turned off during the cooler months and it can get very hot in the rooms with no fans available. I had a massage booked which was very good and I asked for some water which should be offered as complimentary after a massage, however I was charged for the bottled water.Despite the rooms being cleaned every day the shower gel was not topped up , had to ask for this to be refilled.Need better food options for breakfast.Despite this we had a good stay

    Lovely hotel. Bathroom needs a update. You have to climb into the bath to get a shower. Not good when your balance isn't great. Nothing to stand on when getting in or out of the bath/shower. There is a building site right beside the hotel. Windows only open a little bit. You can hear what's going on outside. The room is not soundproof.

    Stayed here for 10 nights, it was our third time staying in Ontur and it has never disappointed. It’s in a great location, plenty of shops and restaurants around, it’s close to main attractions, you can get an uber within 2 mins at any time of day or night too. Theres a great park across the road if you fancy a walk or jog, but the hotel has a small gym, sauna and pool too. Food is good, staff are very friendly. We never had an issue with staff being unable to speak English either. The rooms are spacious, and really clean. WiFi wasn’t great during our first stay but has been upgraded and is excellent now. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ontur if you need a clean comfy accessible hotel im Izmir
