Bad hotel, please avoid
13 Jun 2026
We visited the hotel as day guests ahead of our late flight home to the UK and we had to vacate our villa at 10am. Booked via email all very accommodating, offered us breakfast and to arrange airport transfer. The reality was beyond disappointing. Although we didn’t have to stay in the room itself, it was so dated, with brown carpet and decor coupled with old fixtures and fittings. I would be mortified if I had to spend a night here. The staff were friendly enough but the breakfast was beyond awful. I asked for coffee and got pointed to nestle coffee granules and hot water urn. The infinity pool was lovely - the lunch was bad and barely edible - and the music at the pool had a CD which kept jumping. We struggled to find sun loungers which weren’t broken. This obviously once was a lovely hotel. Sadly no more. Please avoid

Extremely bad and disgusting

The rooms stink of sewage and there are stains all over the sheets. The pool had dirty plasters all in the water and hair, tissue and dead bugs. DO NOT COME HERE!

Amazing Stay
11 Jun 2025
We had mixed thoughts about booking this hotel due to some of the reviews. We decided to go ahead and book and our stay was amazing. The views are stunning and the infinity pool is incredible. There is a beach club a short 5min walk down the hill which is lovely (Kalamar Beach Club) and they have a shuttle that takes you back to your hotel. Our air con wasn’t working so we went up to tell the staff at breakfast and by the time we’d eaten breakfast they had already fixed it and put it on. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Kalkan is about a 25 min walk but we tended to get taxis which the receptionist calls for you and the taxis arrive very quickly. They are 220 TL into Kalkan. Breakfast is fairly simple. There is so much to do in Kalkan and all of the restaurants have stunning views and amazing food. The Turkish people are also super friendly and welcoming.

Could be better if they cared more
02 Aug 2024
Kalamar hotel has its pros and cons, but I feel like the cons are easily fixable, there’s just no one who cares enough to fix them. The location of the hotel is the biggest plus, the view is gorgeous, and the walk to the beach is short, but steep. I don’t blame them for that as it is literally on the side of a mountain. The problems vary from small to medium. There’s nothing completely detrimental, but there are many smaller issues that add up as your stay progresses. The breakfast is mediocre at best. Not that I have high expectations for hotel breakfast. There are cracks in the tiles of the shower, in some rooms the tv’s don’t work, paint is chipping off the bedframe, no cups for toothbrushes, the toilet seat is loose, the lesser used pool is rarely cleaned properly. These are just a few, and like I said, nothing detrimental, but all of these add up to impact the overall experience. One major issue I had personally was the blades on the AC. These were absolutely disgusting, but again, very easily fixable. I feel like there’s incredible potential here, someone just needs to put in the work to realize it.
