  Loved the ALKAN,Management and Staff all were so lovely,they were so helpful and friendly,I had to go to hospital with heatstroke and the staff and Management were so kind to me honestly touched me deeply❤️such lovely people,especially as I was feeling so vulnerable they put my faith back in humanity honestly deeply touched me,overtime I think about how kind they were I feel so emotional and will be forever grateful.

  Superb stay at the Alkan Hotel

  We haven’t been on holiday to marmaris in years and decided to booked the Alkan hotel then 2 weeks before we arrived I went onto trip advisor and read some of the reviews I actually felt sick and wanted to change the hotel I was so worried about the cleanliness of the rooms but my husband said let’s just go give the hotel a chance and if it’s as bad as what some people say then we will go somewhere else so we walked through the door not expecting much the guy behind the desk was so nice and gave us out room key on the 5th floor we opened to door the room was really big to our surprise we had a corner room with wrap round verandah the hotel granted is old fashioned and needing upgraded but it was spotless ! the wee cleaner on the 5th floor went above and beyond our bedding and towels was changed every single day we have Never had that before in a hotel clean sheets and towels everyday what amazing service she provided U went down the day we were leaving and told them how amazing she is at her job they thanked me for giving her such a lovely review the hotel is right on the main strip plenty bars and restaurants the restaurant down the stair Carlos the food is fantastic and the staff are so nice they do a lovely English / Scottish breakfast and the Sunday roast dinners are superb , we have booked up for next year we don’t worry about fancy hotels but I do worry about cleanliness and really I was so upset over nothing .

  I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews on this hotel recently 🤷🏼‍♀️I stayed here on my own as my mother was staying at a hotel around the corner. I felt a little worried after reading the recent reviews, but I was surprised how nice the hotel actually is, very clean, nice spacious room and balcony with free air conditioning, only issue I had was shower was only hot at certain times, not much of an issue but I like a nice hot shower 😁All staff and cleaners were friendly, never had any problems.Room was cleaned every day (even floor was mopped) unless you ask for it not to be cleaned. Unfortunately I didn’t try the breakfast as I went out to meet my mother each morning and had one in Manchester City bar around the corner. I would definitely return to this hotel 🙂Thank you for a lovely stay 😊

  Stayed in ALKAN a few times in the past few tears it has gone down hill it was better when that lovely Turkish couple Aran and Phylis worked there it has a new owner / under new management and needs a lick of paint/refurb it’s looking tired. The Buffet Breakfast was disorganised a bit chaotic and it was like a rugby scrum in the morning and they ran out of tea/coffee cups. The room was clean bedding was clean and bathroom /shower was good - my curtain covering the balcony door kept getting caught every time you opened the balcony door and was half hanging down so I stood on a chair and fixed it myself! Pool area and bar was clean plenty of beds. Even though it is a great location - I would not stay there again.

  Unsafe Experience for Women – Disappointed After Years of Staying Here

  I have been coming to the Alkan for years with my family and this time I went with a friend to stay.Unfortunately, if you are girls looking for a hotel, this is not a safe place to stay. Firstly, our room was quite dirty, with marks all over the walls and crumbs and dust everywhere. Usually, value for money is good, but this year it wasn't to the normal standard however we just ignored it as the price was low enough. It is a family-run hotel, and the majority of staff are lovely; however, we had an incident with one staff member who works a later shift in particular. We had a nice conversation with him on the first night, just standard conversation. A few nights in, he knocked on our room, asking what we were doing and what our plans were, which we thought was odd. He had asked about our relationships, and we both said we weren't interested and that we are in relationships. He continued to say we should cheat, and he wants to hit on us. We said no multiple times and avoided him. Another night, after he was banging on our door aggressively multiple times, shouting 'HELLO', we stayed silent as we were scared. At this point, we thought it was over until our room phone rang and we were told to go to reception. I had asked why, and he said we would see when we get down there. Of course, we ignored it and said no. The incidents were made aware to the hotel manager, and as we only had one night left, we wanted to make sure we were safe for the last night.This incident made us feel unsafe as they have access to our rooms due to working at the hotel, and anything could have happened. I was extremely disappointed as I have been going to this hotel for years, and nothing like this has ever happened before. I never normally write hotel reviews; however, I felt the need to write this one as what happened to us is unacceptable, and I want to prevent it from happening again or have anything worse happen to another group of girls or any girl for that matter.If you are a young girl or a group of girls and you are looking at this hotel, I'd advise you not to stay for your own safety.
