Family visit including our wedding 💍💍

    rating24 May 2026

We went back to the grand aquarium this may and it was just as good as every other time. We got married here this year 💍 and salliye, the manager couldn’t have been more helpful sorting everything for us from start to finish. She moved me and the kids into the club aquarium for a night before the wedding which is a sister hotel to the grand. That hotel was just as lovely as the grand, slightly quieter and more suited for couples. This year at the grand there was a new selection of restaurant staff, they was all amazing and couldn’t fault them, especially Mike and Ben. Mike loved to dance and Ben was always around the pool offering drinks/food. The entertainment team are top notch, from Cedric, geegee, Bucky and ozge all doing an incredible job. Fun all round for everybody kids and adults. They are great. We’re looking to go back towards the end of September back to the “home away from home”. The cleaners are amazing checking in changing everything daily, very clean and tidy place to visit. The rooms are recently all been renovated so they’re all nice and fresh. Amazing value for money, cannot fault any part of the hotel. The location of hotel is around a 20 minute walk to the beach, plenty of shops/restaurants within walking distance although the food at the hotel is top notch. They also have a shop on site alongside a spa, a jewellers & a gym. Fantastic hotel, only hotel I’ve ever wanted to return to and I honestly see why majority of guests return to go again. Amazing hotel 5/5 10/10 5 stars.

    Mixed week

    rating14 May 2026

Me and my partner spent a lovely week in icmeler at the start of May. We chose this hotel because of the very good reviews. This is going to be a mixed review because there are good and bad points.Pros.The hotel was quiet, but there was still a number of families staying so you could see that in the summer it would be great for families . the entertainment team would k very hard all day and all evening .The pool is heated in the early season, which again is a great addition specially as my partner doesn’t like cold water. We did go out and eat quite a lot, but we did have a few breakfast in the hotel which were very reasonably priced and cheaper than the local bar.. I can’t remember exactly how much the drinks cost, but I do remember it was around the same price as a local area. The room we stayed in was a one bedroom apartment overlooking a pool. I cannot fault the room at all ,very well decorated very well maintained and a great waterfall shower. The cleaner came every day to clean the room changed the sheets and changed the towels . you do have to pay for air-conditioning but since it was early may it wasn’t required. It wasn’t very expensive anyway . as for Wi-Fi we didn’t pay the extra to get the Wi-Fi in the room because you can quite easily pick up the signal from the balcony. Has everybody says the reception staff are very helpful and very friendly. For me and my partner, the number of cats is a positive cause we love cats . two distinct group groups live at the hotel the tabby group and the black group are very friendlyConsThe hotel is located a good 10 to 20 minute walk from the centre of town. This was no problem for me and my partner but with a younger family or older people it could be so just be made aware . we did rent an electric three person scooter for £10 a day, which was very handy. The apartments are very well maintained but the bar and eating area unfortunately looks like it’s getting tired and a little bit neglected , the bar especially is a very dark uninviting place and doesn’t really make you want to sit in the evening and have a drinkMe and my partner really enjoyed the cats that live in and around the hotel but we saw on a number of occasions unneutered male cats peeing on the restaurant furniture and you could smell the cat pee.Overall, I would recommend the hotel if you get it for a good price. But if we would to go back to the area, I think next time we will be closer to the centre of town with a slightly larger hotel.

Moldy hot tub on arrival, hospitalised and had to clean it myself wont be back

    rating11 May 2026

As amazing as our experience could have been i feel completely let down by the experience we had with jet2 and the manager of the hotel. We paid 1100 over a standard room for a whirlpool on the balcony to arrive at 7.30 after the pool is closed with 2 excited kids ready to swim we expected to be able to use our balcony hot tub to find It was full of mold and pumping mold out the jets the staff were notified and claimed it was only debris from the hills and they assured us it would be cleaned in the morning... it wasn't . Without causing a fuss we asked for it to be cleaned again which was also not done and on the third day sent a technician with a spanner.. no chlorine tablets , Iodine or even vinegar . a spanner, that he used to hit the tap with.Once he left and claimed he cleaned it he told us it would probably happen again. No compensation or move to another room was offered until the day before I was hospitalised with Bacterial Pneumonia and they offered a late check out card for our troubles.I spent a week of my holiday 1.5 hours in the morning and 15 hours at night filling it up running it through and running white vinegar through the pipes before it ran clear enough for what I thought was to get in to end up in hospital 2 days later. They have claimed they have had jet2 to out see if the water in the tap was discolored and had it tested when this was never the issue, the issue is with the jets, filter, pump and pipes. Of course they're not going to find the bacteria they're looking for when they look in the wrong place, they claim that for these reasons we are not entitled to compensation for our missold packageThese pictures underneath are of the 3rd time I ran it through and still there is chunks of slime mold and biofilm floating around in the pool. Unacceptable, could have been my children in hospital. There were cats everywhere some in heat and constantly fighting for scraps allowed to walk over tables during food service times absolutely stinks of cat spray. We understand that cats are necessary to keep the rodents away but you're getting a full review for our troubles.Wether you're flying with jet2 or not and something happens to you while at this resort, dont expect any help or acceptance of fault from them.

Family-Friendly Hotel & Dedicated, Passionate Staff.

    rating09 May 2026

Grand Aquarium is an excellent family-focussed hotel where every member of the team are an absolute credit to themselves and the hotel. There was a mix-up on our arrival where we were put in a room that, the next morning, we were told needed to be changed due to the doors being replaced. It was frustrating, as we’d unpacked everything. The reception staff couldn’t have handled it better and the room he moved us to (342) exceeded our expectations. They also provided us with complimentary premium wi-fi by way of apology. The rooms are perfectly nice and modern. We were in a two-bedroom apartment with ample space for our family of four comprised of 1 x double bed, 2 x single beds (in a seperate bedroom) and a sofa bed in the main living room which also has a TV. We didn’t cook in-room but there seemed to be the basics of what you’d need. There is no ironing board or iron provided though, which was surprising and you'd have to pay to use their clothes washing / ironing service if required. Aircon was chargeable but, in May, we didn't pay fot it and at no point was it uncomfortable. The safe was also chargeable. The food and drink on-site is of good quality and very fairly priced Vs local restaurants and bars, if not better priced in some cases. They do a BBQ night on Friday and we thought the food was delicious. Breakfasts were also very well priced and tasty. They do a waiter service around the pool from around 11am onwards.Entertainment was a bit familiar through the day (typically darts and killer pool, plus they run a kids club but we didn't utilise that service) but absolutely everyone in the entertainment team had great energy, with Cederick and Bucky doing the rounds constantly, making sure everyones is having a great time. The night time entertainment was decent, we enjoyed the MJ show, even if it might’ve been a bit too loud for our young kids (3 and 5) and the BBQ & pool party was a good laugh. They also do bingo and quiz nights, if that's your thing. The main pool area is really good. Plenty of sunbeds with very little reserving of beds going on in May when we were there and always plenty available. The pool is a very good size and has a waterslide that young kids (or young adults) will enjoy. There's also a really nice smaller kids pool and, at the rear of the hotel) a more secluded pool for those wanting more tranquility. The pool "comes to life" from around 11am, when music starts to play etc.The hotel is a touch out of the way but the dolmus is outside and costs 50tl each for a 5 min ride to the centre and a taxi cost us 300tl. There's a couple of smaller supermarkets within a 5 mi walk and a decent bar & restaurant if you'd like a change of scenery. There's also an on-site mini-mart but, as you'd expect, you pay a bit of a premium for the convenience and you can't consume food / drink purchased there at the poolside.A lot of the guests there that we spoke with our regulars and come back multiple times a year and it's clear to see why. We’ll almost certainly come back to Icmeler and if we do we’ll be sure to stay here too.
