  Misleading Charges and Poor Conditions During a Crisis

  Our experience at Al Seef Resort & Spa by Andalus was extremely disappointing and honestly felt very deceptive.My father and I came to Abu Dhabi for his U.S. Embassy visa appointment, but due to the regional conflict and airspace closures our flights were canceled and the embassy shut down. Because of this, we were unexpectedly stranded in Abu Dhabi with no way to leave.Despite knowing about the situation, the hotel repeatedly demanded daily written confirmation from the airline that our flight was canceled, which is impossible when the airspace is closed and flights are not operating. Even after showing airline communication confirming the cancellations, they continued insisting on documentation that simply does not exist.The food voucher situation was also very misleading. The hotel gave us meal vouchers and told us that because travelers were stranded, support was being provided for extended stays and meals. At no point did anyone say that these vouchers would later be charged to us. However, at checkout they charged us for the vouchers anyway, which was never clearly explained beforehand.On top of that, the room conditions were unacceptable. The kitchen area in our room was full of ants. Every time we tried to make tea, ants would come out and our cups would literally end up filled with ants. For a hotel that presents itself as a resort and spa, this level of cleanliness is completely unacceptable.Also, the rooms are not nearly as nice or clean as they appear in the photos online. The pictures make the property look luxurious, but the reality is very different.Being stranded in a foreign country during a crisis is already stressful enough. Instead of transparency and basic hospitality, we experienced unexpected charges, poor room conditions, and constant pressure for impossible documentation.Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling taken advantage of during a very difficult situation. Guest satisfaction is extremely important to us, and we sincerely regret any inconvenience caused due to the unfortunate circumstances during your stay.Following your previous email, we conducted a thorough internal review and also coordinated with the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) to ensure that the matter was carefully assessed in line with the applicable guidelines. In order to provide full transparency and to support guest satisfaction, a call was also arranged with the DCT representative during your stay. During this call, the DCT representative explained that, according to the official DCT circular and the related terms and conditions, your stay from 4 March to 5 March 2026 only met the eligibility criteria under the specified category.Additionally, the DCT representative informed that cancellation confirmation from the airline would be required to process the case under the mentioned category. As this documentation was not received from the airline, the eligibility could not be validated.Despite these circumstances, our team did it's very best to assist and support you by proposing alternative solutions. As your booking was originally provided on a full board basis and the restaurants are outsourced, we offered a goodwill arrangement. Instead of the full applicable charges, you could contribute a reduced amount of AED 500 for the additional nights whereas the charges of the Room for the rest of the nights were covered by the Hotel. This proposal was shared in good faith to help minimize the inconvenience and financial impact; however, we understand that this option was not accepted. Furthermore, upon your departure, a phone call was conducted by the DCT representative to reassure you and clarify the eligibility criteria. During the conversation, the representative kindly informed you that, unfortunately, you did not meet the eligibility requirements.Please be assured that our team remained fully committed to assisting you and providing the best possible support while adhering to the regulations set by the authorities.Best Regards,Hotel Management Team

  The excellent rooms, clean, with equipped kitchen. Huge heated pool and hot tub. Staff always available, kind. A special mention to Prashanth Baindla who also organized the excursions for us. Really excellent place to stay in Abu Dhabi.   Nice hotel for families, friends or couples.

  Nice hotel, clean, large and has a mall next door. All room are on ground and 1st floor no higher so has a nice vibe to it, loads of shops within the hotel too.Nice decent pools and small play area for kids.   Terrible Spa Experience and Huge Vape Problem

  I wanted to have a nice getaway at a resort for a couple days with a spa treatment or two, but it was a nightmare. I made sure to let them know ahead of time to keep me away from any smoking/vaping rooms, and they assured me that all rooms were non smoking. It's quite the opposite. There is vaping going on everywhere, and it was coming into the bathroom, through the air conditioner and through the kitchen area. The air was stale and unbreathable. I have a serious allergy to vape, and I have asthma, so saying a place is smoke free when it isn't is dangerous for some people. I don't need anything fancy in a room. I just require oxygen, which this places was lacking in abundance. I also encountered it at the spa when I went for a treatment. I had to change tables because the first one I laid in smelled like someone had been vaping into the head hole during a previous massage. The massage therapist also didn't seem to be well trained. This is the first time I've complained about a massage ever. She put all her weight on my back by crawling on me painfully. I asked her to stop, but she continued. Later on, she was bending my leg in such a way that it was causing me pain, so I asked her to just massage the muscles, and she tried to insist on doing the other side first. I had to snap at her to get her to stop. I have had sciatic and back pain for a week because of it. Also, most shops are vacant. There is not much resort at the resort. Terrible experience.   Great, safe, clean and friendly resort.

  Great set up and facilities. Staff were super attentive and couldn’t have been friendlier. Facilities were great, pool area very relaxing and great for a cool down on a hot day. Lots of shops and restaurants on the resort but also a small mall basically on site with a supermarket ( which was well priced) and various restaurants & takeaways. All in all a great place.
