    Never saw a hotel in name and no hospitality before

    I don’t usually write long reviews, but this experience stayed with me because it wasn’t about facilities or price—it was about how a guest is treated when a simple request becomes a moment of truth.I booked one night at Oryx Hotel Abu Dhabi as a short overnight stay. I arrived late, checked out early, and because I was attending a nearby event in an area where parking is extremely difficult, I politely asked whether my car could remain parked for a short while after checkout.I fully understand that hotels have policies.What I struggled with was how the situation was handled.The initial interaction with valet quickly became rigid and dismissive. When I asked to speak to a manager—not to argue, but to find a solution—the escalation that followed felt strangely impersonal and confrontational.No one asked why I was upset.No one tried to calm the situation.No one attempted to listen.Instead, I was met with repeated references to “policy,” spoken at me rather than with me.What shocked me most was learning that internally I had been described as “an angry Arabic customer.” That framing alone explains why the interaction went downhill. Being labeled instead of listened to is deeply frustrating and unnecessary.Even more surprising was that the person who stepped in identified himself as a Sales Director, rather than someone from front office management or guest relations. This was a service and escalation issue, and it felt like the wrong role was placed in the wrong moment—without the soft skills required to de-escalate and resolve.I’ll be honest: I eventually raised my voice. Not because I wanted to, but because being unheard repeatedly pushes even calm people to that point. Hospitality is supposed to absorb tension, not amplify it.As someone who works professionally in customer service and hospitality training, I know this:Hospitality isn’t about always saying yes.It’s about how you say no, how you explain, and how you treat the person in front of you when emotions are involved.Policies are important But without empathy and proper escalation protocols, they become walls instead of guidelines.I truly hope the hotel reviews how guest escalations are handled, who is deployed in those moments, and how language and assumptions can unintentionally escalate a situation that could have been resolved calmly in minutes.

    It's not the most up-to-date decor but it's still comfortable and in reasonable condition. I needed to send a package in advance to collect on my arrival, they were very quick at answering my emails to ask if this was OK and letting me know it had arrived.The Irish pub on the mezzanine floor is very pleasant, they had great beer prices (for Abu Dhabi) during their happy hour

    room not cleaned even calling couple times,,water request takes very long time even calling 5x,,, lifeguard is not nice

    Me and my 3 friends stayed there (2 standard rooms) last year, yeah was last year but i still dont forget that i will leave comments. The room was not cleaned and we stayed there 2 nights, when requesting for a cleaning, nobody came though i gave them all the time until the 2nd day of stay,, the water request takes 25yrs before they deliver, so instead i went down and bought water from the big mart nearby. And on check out time, i just requested to stay till for 2pm (btw, we checked out 1:30pm) and it was real hard for them to give me my request..Man, come on, it was my 50th birthday and they did not even do any small thing about that (for their guests celebrating birthday at their hotel, and they are 4-star). Also, this male lifeguard there, should learn to smile and assist guest properly, not to show his upset face to the guest just because i sat down with wet towel, i already said sorry and i will wipe the sunlounger. How long will he keep this f--- grudge?? Hellleeerrrr!!!!(note: there was no option for other date; but we stayed there april 2024, not june)

    The hotel arranged a pick up from Zayed International Airport at a price, I was well received on arrival at the hotel on the 16th of November. From the reception, the lounge area, my room, to the restaurant, the staff. The amenities were on point. My stay was a fulfilled one until my departure on November 23.     Good Experience at Oryx Hotel Abu Dhabi

    The front desk staff was very helpful in checking in and explaining the hotel's facility. It is a perfect location near Corniche Beach, 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. It is close to the mall and easy to go anywhere. It's a big room and is comfortable. The bathroom is also significant and has full amenities. There is also a great housekeeping staff.I enjoyed breakfast at Horizon Restaurant, as there were many food choices. It was a lovely sunrise, and you could sit outside in the pool area and enjoy breakfast. It is a small, nice pool on the same floor as the Restaurant.The best part of the Hotel is that I found a traditional Irish Pub with Good food, drinks, and service.I enjoyed my ten days of holiday with my family.
