Location

The hotel is wonderfully located on the coast of Dubai. It is only a couple of minutes drive from the Dubai Museum.

Facility

The resort has a lift and features 446 rooms and 47 suites. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Film fans will find plenty of 'lights, camera, action' at the cinema. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a playroom. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, translation services, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a coin-operated laundry. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms feature a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning and central heating ensure comfortable indoor temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A telephone, satellite television, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. The resort has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. Pure relaxation in the hot tub, fun on the waterslide and refreshing drinks at the pool bar – guests will experience just how rich and varied a day in the water can be. A sun terrace, sun loungers, and parasols are available. The resort offers outdoor sports, including tennis, beach volleyball, volleyball and golf or, for a fee, horse riding. Guests can take part in a comprehensive water sports programme, which includes kayaking, snorkelling, diving and aquafit, with water skiing, windsurfing, paddle boating, banana boat rides and sailing available for a fee. The resort offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, billiards, darts, squash and yoga or, for a fee, aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the resort, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Leisure facilities include a kids' club, a dance club and a nightclub.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a dining room, a café and a bar. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include half board, full board and all-inclusive. A delicious breakfast gives guests plenty of energy for the day. At lunch and dinner, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and snacks are available. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    We checked in on thursday at the hotel and as we had to wait for our room. We headed to the pool and Beshoy is a star! he welcomed us really well, helped us pick a nice location for sunbeds and attended to us very well, he was super attentive despite the busy day. We also loved the room we got an upgrade cause we were celebrating my mum's birthday. We had a wonderful view! Hassan and Hamid from pool attendants were also absolutely wonderful. Ranil and Shravan were also super nice, friendly and the entire experience was wonderful. Thank you Than, Abid for the wonderful upgrade!

    I checked in at the hotel and have been waiting for nearly three hours—until 6:00 PM—without being given a room. I was left waiting in the reception area the entire time, which is completely unacceptable.Despite being a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, I did not receive any upgrade or even basic additional service. This has been one of the worst service experiences I’ve had, especially considering my previous stays.     Great location, uncomfortable stay

    Although the hotel has a great location with a beautiful beach and view, our stay was a disappointment. We stayed for two nights that were uncomfortable because the hard bed and the pillows balloon like!The bathroom is really strange! We visited 2 rooms and in both the sink and toilet were really low, like in daycares for kids!! Really strange! uncomfortable to use, especially for people with back pain.The breakfast buffet was also disappointing, with low-quality food.Overall, the hotel has a wonderful location, but it needs improvement in comfort, service, and food quality.     Autograph Collection qualifying criteria needs reviewing. Not good.

    An extremely disappointing stay, which leads me to wonder how/why Marriott enables this property to be included on it's Autograph Collection scheme. The key thing that I must highlight is that every single member of staff throughout the property was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Nothing in this review reflects poorly on any of the team, it just feels like the place is managed to a cost; to the detriment of it's guests. Pre-arrival queries were almost impossible, as nobody answered the phone. My email query was answered only after following up and with only a few hours before we were due to check in. I've never been to a 5* hotel that makes you park your own car, so that was a red flag as soon as we arrived. We were then given a room with a partial sea view and a full construction site view. This was quickly rectified, but to a smaller, worse room. Having planned a relaxing day by the pool, our hopes of this were dashed when we looked out at the pool and could hear blaring music and water aerobics taking place on one side; and ear shattering construction noise within meters of the pool on the other side. The long walk to the beach felt like walking through the village of the damned; with piles of bricks/rubble, cordoned off areas, closed venues and just a general feeling of being stuck in a time warp. Arriving at the beach, we were thrilled to see nowhere to get any refreshments of any kind and no beach towels being provided in site. It's just weird that the team think this is acceptable. In our search for something to do, we ended up at O Beach, which is a third party venue operated on the grounds. We fortunately ended up having an incredible time here, but it's not part of the hotel!At dinner, we opted for the Grand Grill for a steak I'd been looking forward to all day, having dined here many times when I first arrived in Dubai 16 years ago. Unfortunately, both meals were largely inedible and bitterly disappointing. Again through, the staff couldn't be more helpful and polite when addressing our concerns. Breakfast was 3* quality at best. We took one look round the dining room and decided to get something decent instead, so we walked out to Bateel on JBR and had something nice. So all in, our best experiences here were at a third party venue on the grounds and when we left the property to get something decent to eat. Despite having a late check out arranged until 6pm, we just wanted to leave and get home, so made a sharp exit at 1130am. Not a good sign for anyone running a hotel.     The room had a beautiful view, the pool was lovely, and the room service was excellent. I thank my brother Bishoy, he was very helpful and assisted us with everything.
